This week 16 match-up will see two of the bottom dwellers in the NFL face off. This is also a NFC East divisional game between the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins.
When these two teams met earlier this season, the Giants won 24-3.
New York Giants
The Giants are coming off just their third win of the season after beating Miami 36-20. They finally snapped a nine-game losing streak and did so with Eli Manning under center. Manning has been filling in for rookie Daniel Jones, who is dealing with a high ankle sprain. Jones is still listed as questionable for this game.
The Giants had their highest scoring game this season with 36 points against the Dolphins. Previously their highest was 32 and that came in week three. This alone shows how much struggles the offense has had.
New York is ranked near the bottom of the league in most offensive categories. This includes total yards, passing yards, rushing yards and points scored per game.
Saquon Barkley is not exactly having the season he had hoped for, but he still leads the team with 722 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns.

Their defense has been just as awful this season. They are allowing 27.3 points per game, the 27th ranked scoring defense in the league. The weakest area of their defense is their secondary. The Giants allow 261.8 passing yards per game, which ranks 26th.
The good news is that their defense will be facing Dwayne Haskins. The Washington rookie has not played well this season, so I do expect even a bad defense like the Giants to slow him down.
Washington Redskins
The Redskins played the Eagles tough, but in the end they were too much as Washington fell 37-27. They have now lost two games in a row, but again, they were at the very least showing signs of improvement.
Their rookie quarterback, Dwayne Haskins, finally looked like someone who has potential in the NFL. He threw for 261 yards in this game and two touchdowns. More importantly, he did not throw an interception. However, he did lose a fumble.
The Redskins offense is still ranked 31st in scoring this season as they average 15.4 points per game. They have the worst passing offense in the league, averaging 168.4 yards per game. Their rushing offense only averages 101.1 yards per game, but they rank 20th in the league.
The Washington defense is also horrible this season. It shows as they allow 24.8 points per game. They also have one of the worst rush defenses in the NFL, allowing an average of 136.4 yards per game.
That being said, the key for the Redskins will be limiting Saquon Barkley. We know how bad Eli Manning can be, so forcing him to beat them is how Washington will stand a chance.
