The NFL season is finally here!
The Giants take on the Cowboys in this week 1 NFC East matchup.
The Cowboys will be without Ezekiel Elliott who is facing a six game suspension.
The Cowboys have lost the last three meetings, all by a touchdown or less.
New York Giants
The New York Giants should always be considered a threat in the postseason, but during the regular season they have struggled with consistency.
Eli Manning leads an offense fill of weapons at the wide receiver position, and their key pickup in the offseason was former Jets wideout Brandon Marshall.

Odell Beckham is listed as questionable for this game, but if he suits up he is clearly one of the top 5 offensive players in the NFL. He is dealing with a nagging injury but if he suits up I expect a big first game from him, with 7 catches for over 100 yards and a score.
If Beckham is held out of the game then expect Brandon Marshall and Sterling Sheppard to step up. Sheppard is coming off a solid rookie season, and should be a major threat as a slot receiver against a vulnerable Cowboys secondary.
Marshall should be pegged to dominate whoever he lines up against, and should have a score from the red zone.

Landon Collins leads the secondary and the former Alabama standout should be a threat to pick off a couple of passes. Janoris Jenkins will face a tough test against Dez Bryant and may be overmatched in this game.
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys face a major offensive crisis for the first six weeks of the seasons, as star running back Ezekiel Elliott has been suspended by the NFL. (As of presstime)
He led the league in rushing during a spectacular rookie season, and would have garnered MVP candidate talk if not for this suspension.
His replacement in the backfield should be led by Darren McFadden, who will run behind the best offensive line in the NFL.
Although McFadden has been relegated to back up duties he should have a huge game against the Giants front seven, and run for 100 yards and a score.
Dak Prescott ad Dez Bryant will need to work on the chemistry this season, as the second year QB missed plenty of opportunities down the field last season to get him the ball.
If Prescott can get the ball to Bryant early, the Cowboys should get the easy win. If he reverts back to his 2016 form and checks down to Jason Witten or Cole Beasley, then it will be a very close game.
I believe Bryant will dominate the Giants secondary, and finish the game with 2 scores and over 100 yards receiving.

The Cowboys defense will finally have former college star Jaylon Smith at middle linebacker, and the second rounder in the 2016 draft looks to be fully healed from his Fiesta Bowl injury.
He is one of the top candidates for rookie of the year and will make an immediate impact for the Cowboys this game.
