The New Orleans Saints will travel to Charlotte to face their inter-divisional foes to wrap up their 2020 season. The Saints will enter coming off a Christmas day beatdown of the Minnesota Vikings 52-33. Alvin Kamara powered the team to victory and stuffed the stockings of his fantasy owners with 6 touchdowns and 172 all-purpose yards just in time for fantasy championships.
The team is currently sitting as the 3rd seed in the playoff race but have a chance to gain the #1 spot and ever important home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win and some help. This possibility will likely have Sean Payton playing his starters meaningful minutes rather than resting the final week of the season.
The Carolina Panthers return home for their season finale after upsetting the NFC East leading Washington Football Team 20-13 in week 16. The win dropped the Panthers 4 spots in the upcoming 2021 draft but that doesn’t appear to hold any barring on the teams effort week in and week out as they have continued to show fight throughout the season.
The team has struggled with the absence of superstar RB Christian McCaffrey who has played in only three games this season due to varying injuries which comes after Carolina signed McCaffrey to a monster 4 year $64 million contract extension this summer.
The Saints are in a favorable matchup this game as road favorites facing a Panthers team that has shown fight throughout the season under first year coach Matt Rhule but is still going through growing pains as Carolina has entered a rebuild.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints look to end their 2020 regular season on a high note after yet enough successful campaign under coach Sean Payton. New Orleans started the year slow at 1-2 before storming off an impressive 9 game win streak even without the leadership of legendary QB Drew Brees who missed 4 games due to an astounding 11 fractured ribs.
They won last Friday on Christmas Day and will come into this game well rested and ready to carry momentum over into the postseason.
RB Alvin Kamara has 932 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns to go along with an impressive 756 receiving yards and 5 receiving touchdowns to hold the position of 3rd most scrimmage yards in the league with 1,688.
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers will be playing for bragging rights and pride in this contest after being eliminated from playoff contention long ago. Carolina finds itself middle of the league statistically but does have the upside of several young playmakers including DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel who have potential to be the new faces of a rebuilding franchise.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Over 51
The last time these two rivals faced it was in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome week 6 as New Orleans prevailed in a close one 27-24. I expect similar gameplay this week as both teams were without their star players then and still are. The Panthers have shown no quit this season under Matt Rhule even with the adversity of a rebuild I don’t see the team rolling over to the Saints at home especially when they can play seeding spoilers. Look for this game to go over the points total as this matchup often does between two dangerous NFC South offenses.
