Saints vs. Ravens Gameday
New Orleans heads to Baltimore Sunday for its second straight road game, visiting the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM ET on CBS and Paramount+.
The Saints are 0-1 after a wild 31-30 overtime loss in Detroit. New Orleans trailed 21-0, rallied to force overtime and then went for two after matching the Lions’ touchdown, only to have the conversion fall incomplete.
New Orleans erased a 21-point hole and still left Detroit with nothing but the airline miles.
Baltimore had a much more pleasant opener. The Ravens rolled past Indianapolis 41-23 in Jesse Minter’s head-coaching debut, piling up 506 yards while leading by 18 at halftime.
Now Minter gets his first home game.
Baltimore leads the all-time series 6-2 and won the most recent meeting 27-13 in New Orleans in 2022. The Saints’ only victory in Baltimore came in 2018.
Week 2, New Orleans Saints vs. Baltimore Ravens, with one offense trying to build on a blowout and the other trying to make a 410-yard quarterback performance actually count.

New Orleans Saints vs. Baltimore Ravens Odds & Last 5
Baltimore is an 8.5-point home favorite, with New Orleans getting better than a touchdown. The current total has dropped to 46.5 after opening around 47.5.
That half-point matters to total bettors.
New Orleans’ preseason results don’t tell us much now that the real games have started. The Saints produced 469 yards and 30 points in Detroit, but three Tyler Shough turnovers helped create the 21-point hole they spent the second half digging out of.
Baltimore’s opener was considerably cleaner.
The Ravens scored 41 at Indianapolis and produced 202 rushing yards, with Derrick Henry doing most of the damage. Baltimore also forced two turnovers while holding the Colts to 251 total yards.
The Ravens have won six of eight all-time meetings with New Orleans. Their last matchup finished comfortably Under this week’s number, but four years and several roster changes make that more trivia than betting gospel.
Ravens Stats From Last Season
Baltimore couldn’t have asked for much more from its new offense in Week 1. The Ravens produced 506 yards, with Lamar Jackson throwing for 324 and Derrick Henry rushing for 144.
Henry scored three times.
Zay Flowers was just as destructive before leaving with a hamstring injury, catching five passes for a career-high 150 yards and a touchdown. He has missed practice this week and remains day-to-day.
Jackson, Henry and Flowers made the new offense look suspiciously like it had skipped the installation period.
The defense settled down after allowing a touchdown on Indianapolis’ opening possession. Baltimore surrendered only 251 total yards and forced two turnovers, with Roquan Smith intercepting a pass and Marlon Humphrey forcing a fumble.
The injury list is worth watching.
Flowers missed Thursday’s practice, as did left tackle Ronnie Stanley and left guard John Simpson. Rookie receiver Ja’Kobi Lane has already landed on injured reserve, leaving Baltimore thinner at receiver than it was when Week 1 began.
Saints Stats From Last Season
New Orleans lost its opener, but the offense certainly wasn’t the quiet part. The Saints generated 469 yards and 30 points while nearly completing a comeback from 21 down.
Tyler Shough supplied most of the fireworks.
Shough completed 35 of 56 passes for a career-high 410 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw two interceptions and lost a fumble, so his afternoon was equal parts promising and expensive.
Chris Olave was a problem all day.
Olave caught 10 passes for a career-high 182 yards, while Devaughn Vele added seven catches for 69 yards and a touchdown. Travis Etienne Jr. led the rushing attack with 46 yards and caught seven passes out of the backfield.
The Saints allowed 31 points, but Detroit needed overtime to get there. Jahmyr Gibbs did the biggest damage, rushing for 156 yards and two touchdowns.
That makes Henry a fairly obvious concern Sunday.
Alvin Kamara was a full practice participant Wednesday with a knee issue, while Cameron Jordan was limited by a hamstring injury. New Orleans has some bumps, but its biggest Week 2 assignment is finding a way to slow Baltimore’s ground game.

Saints vs. Ravens QB Matchup
Lamar Jackson opened the season by completing 20 of 25 passes for 324 yards and a touchdown against Indianapolis. He added 40 rushing yards while Baltimore topped 500 yards of offense for the first time since 2024.
Not much rust there.
Jackson was surgical in Indianapolis; Shough was explosive in Detroit and occasionally his own worst enemy.
Shough’s final numbers were huge: 410 yards and three touchdowns while completing 35 passes. The rookie also committed three turnovers, including two interceptions, before settling down and leading New Orleans all the way back from a 21-point deficit.
That’s the fascinating part of this matchup.
Jackson has Henry beside him and a Baltimore offense that can punish a defense without asking its quarterback to throw 50 times. Shough attempted 56 passes in Detroit, and repeating that formula against Baltimore’s pressure would qualify as living dangerously.
The Saints don’t need another 400-yard afternoon from Shough.
They need the explosive throws without the complimentary possessions going the other way. If he cleans that up, Baltimore may have to keep scoring well into the second half.
Saints vs. Ravens bottom line: Baltimore’s offense looked ready to ruin scoreboards in Week 1, and Shough showed enough arm to make this more interesting than an eight-point spread might suggest.

The turnovers were the problem.
Shough threw for 410 yards in Week 1, so the Saints aren’t arriving with a butter knife.
Baltimore should score. Jackson threw for 324 yards, Henry ran for 144 and three touchdowns, and the Ravens produced 31 first-half points before Zay Flowers left with a hamstring injury.
Flowers’ status matters, but Baltimore still has Jackson and Henry attacking a Saints defense that surrendered 31 in Detroit. New Orleans also showed enough firepower to erase a 21-point deficit and force overtime.
That’s the part I want here.
The Ravens don’t need New Orleans to trade touchdowns all afternoon. Give me Baltimore doing the heavy lifting and Shough finding enough chunk plays against an aggressive defense to drag this into the 50s.
