Minnesota suffered a crushing loss last week, making a playoff appearance seem pretty unlikely.
New Orleans is in the playoffs for sure. They will be using these last few weeks to try and get healthy and stay sharp.
These two teams have had some pretty good battles in the playoffs over the last few seasons.
Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota needs to lick its wounds pretty quickly. They were favored last week and lost. Not only hurting their own chances but helping rival Chicago with theirs.
The defense has been well below recent standards. In the loss to the Bears on Sunday Minnesota was unable to stop the run letting David Montgomery rush for 146 yards.
Their own running back Dalvin Cook had another strong game with 132 yards. He continues to be the focus of the offense though rookie Justin Jefferson has already established himself as the top receiving threat on the team.
Minnesota has not been able to get much of a pass rush this season. That has been a big part of why the defense has struggled this season. They are giving up 27ppg.
Minnesota is at max urgency so let’s see what they can come up with.
New Orleans Saints
New Orleans played a very interesting game against Kansas City on Sunday afternoon. They were off their game offensively yet still managed to lose by just three.
Drew Brees was back in the lineup and looked terrible early. He eventually gutted his way to some big throws giving the Saints a chance to win the ball game.
New Orleans has sat down Michael Thomas for the rest of the season. Without him the receiving corps gets very ordinary very quickly. Oddly Sean Payton did no seem to do much scheming around that deficit.
I know the Saints gave up 32 points in the loss bu the defense actually played well. They were able to get a lot of pressure on Patrick Mahomes with their front four.
New Orleans still has a lot to play for so I expect they will be up for this one. Also look for Brees to be much sharper.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Saints -7
New Orleans looked like an NFC contender in their loss to KC. Minnesota looked like anything but against Chicago in their loss. Minnesota will be able to run the ball but I expect Kirk Cousins to struggle against the New Orleans D. The Saints will move the ball and score against a light Vikings defense. They play most of this one with a solid cushion
