Colts will be at home for this first time this season to face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 of the NFL season. Indianapolis is coming off the biggest upset of the weekend as they lost as 9-point favorites to the Jaguars. Minnesota also lost in Week 1 as they could contain Aaron Rodgers from slinging the ball all over the field.
Minnesota Vikings
Vikings started slowly in their game against the Packers on Sunday. After taking an early 7-3 lead in the first quarter it was all Green Bay after that. Before Minnesota knew it they were down 22-7 after a very bad interception for Kirk Cousins.
Cousins completed just 19 of 25 passes for 259 yards to go with his 2:1 TD to INT ratio in the first game. Vikings did make a late push at the end, but it was simply too late as they needed two scores to take a lead.
Adam Thielen showed he could shine as the lead receiver in the Vikings offense. Thielen had 110 and two touchdowns against the Green Bay secondary and is looking very healthy after an injury-riddled season in 2019.

Defensively, the Vikings got torched all day. Aaron Rodgers had whatever throw he wanted in the game throwing for over 364 yards with one of the weakest receiving cores in the NFL. New addition Yannick Ngakoue did literally nothing on the field as he couldn’t muster a tackle in the game. Mike Zimmer needs to get his defense right if he wants to contend in the very defense-heavy NFC North.
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts losing to the Jaguars was the biggest upset of Week 1 as they were the biggest favorite on the board. Philip Rivers did not look good in his first start under center for Indianapolis throwing for more interceptions than touchdowns.
Rivers completed 36 of 46 passes for 363 yards which look good from an eye test standpoint, but if you watched the game it was much worse than that. He threw two key interceptions that led to 14 points for the Jaguars and if he’s going to continue to throw the ball up like that it’s going to be a long season for Colts fans.
Marlon Mack is now out for the rest of the year after a season-ending injury in the game. Mack was Indianapolis’s leading rusher last season with just over 1000 yards and eight scores. That’ll be a huge blow for the Colts as they are now relying on a rookie and a third year-player who has yet to rush for 100 yards in his career commanding the backfield.
Darius Leonard led the team in the tackles with eight on the day against the Jaguars. Leonard’s 2019 was cut short due to injury after making the All-Pro team in 2018 as a rookie.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Vikings Moneyline +125
I like the Vikings in this one as Kirk Cousins shines in non-conference games. The Vikings 5-1 in their last six games against an AFC-South opponent and I think that trend continues here. It’s going to take some time for the Colts and Rivers to adjust to each other as having no-preseason really affected some of their chemistry. Give me Cousins and the Vikings to win outright.
