Raiders vs. Patriots Gameday
The Las Vegas Raiders visit the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Kickoff is set for 1 PM ET on CBS in this Week 5 AFC matchup.
Las Vegas enters at 3-1 under first-year head coach Klint Kubiak, including two victories away from home. That’s a welcome turnaround for a franchise that finished last season with the NFL’s worst record. Apparently, somebody finally found the reset button.
New England sits at 2-2 under Mike Vrabel, trying to regain the consistency that carried the Patriots to last season’s Super Bowl.
Las Vegas has earned some early respect, but New England offers a tougher examination of its progress.
The Raiders won the previous meeting 20-13 in Foxborough during the 2025 season opener. That result didn’t exactly predict what followed, with New England reaching the Super Bowl and Las Vegas ending up with the first overall draft pick.
Now the teams meet with a different set of expectations. Kubiak wants to prove his Raiders belong in the AFC conversation, while Vrabel needs his club to stop alternating between impressive and forgettable performances. October is a little early for anyone to start polishing a trophy.
It’s Week 5, Las Vegas Raiders vs. New England Patriots, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Las Vegas Raiders vs. New England Patriots Odds & Last 5
New England opened as a 3.5-point favorite, with the Patriots at -198 on the moneyline and Las Vegas at +164. The opening total was 45.5 points.
The Raiders began with three consecutive victories, beating Miami 27-13, the Chargers 26-14 and New Orleans 35-27. Kansas City finally stopped that run with a 30-27 win in Las Vegas last Sunday.
That loss was particularly frustrating because the Raiders battled back late before running out of opportunities. Competitive? Absolutely. Satisfied? Not a chance.
New England comes off a 29-26 victory at Buffalo, responding to a 35-6 defeat against Jacksonville the previous week. The Patriots also beat Pittsburgh 20-3 earlier this season, showing how different their performances can look from one Sunday to the next.
The opening spread requires the home team to win by more than a field goal, a distinction worth remembering when comparing NFL prices. Anyone checking their favorite sportsbooks should pay attention to that extra half-point.

Patriots Stats
New England has accumulated 1,326 total offensive yards through four games, including 471 on the ground. The Patriots have struggled to turn that yardage into points, averaging just over 16 per contest. Moving the football is nice, but the scoreboard remains stubbornly unimpressed.
Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson give the backfield two different options. Stevenson was limited Thursday with a knee issue, adding some uncertainty to the rotation.
New England has enough offensive variety to move the chains, but finishing drives remains the bigger challenge.
The Patriots have surrendered 77 points, allowing fewer than 20 per game. They’ve also limited opponents to 759 passing yards, although the availability of several defensive starters could affect that performance.
Cornerbacks Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis III missed Thursday’s practice with shoulder and neck injuries, respectively. Christian Barmore was limited with a shoulder problem, while Morgan Moses continued working through a foot injury. Receiver Mack Hollins also missed practice because of a calf issue. New England’s medical staff certainly isn’t complaining about having too much free time.
Raiders Stats
Las Vegas has scored 115 points through four games, averaging nearly 29 per contest. The offense has been particularly productive through the air, although the rushing attack has generated just 372 yards.
Ashton Jeanty leads the backfield with 264 rushing yards. He’s a dangerous player in space, but the Raiders haven’t consistently opened the running lanes needed to keep defenses honest. Jeanty was limited Thursday with ankle and foot concerns, so his workload deserves attention heading into Sunday.
The Raiders have allowed 84 points this season. Opponents have gained 538 rushing yards, an area Kubiak’s defense needs to tighten up against more physical competition.
Maxx Crosby remains the centerpiece of a pass rush that also features Malcolm Koonce and Kwity Paye. That trio can create problems without forcing Las Vegas to send extra defenders on every snap.
Receiver Jalen Nailor missed Thursday’s practice with a concussion. On the brighter side, tight end Brock Bowers and offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson were full participants after being limited Wednesday.
Getting important players back on the field beats another afternoon of watching them ride stationary bikes.
Raiders vs. Patriots QB Matchup
New England QB Drake Maye has thrown for 854 yards, four TD’s and seven interceptions through four games. The turnover total stands out, especially for a QB who helped carry the Patriots to the Super Bowl last season.
Maye delivered a much better performance against Buffalo, throwing for 269 yards and three TD’s. He also directed the late scoring drive that secured the victory, demonstrating the composure New England needs more consistently. One strong Sunday doesn’t erase the earlier mistakes, but it’s a useful place to start.
Maye participated fully in Thursday’s practice despite a right shoulder issue.
Las Vegas counters with veteran Kirk Cousins, who has thrown for 1,026 yards, 11 TD’s and four interceptions. His experience has helped Kubiak establish a passing attack capable of stretching defenses and exploiting coverage mistakes.
Cousins works best when he can deliver on schedule and distribute the ball before pressure arrives. Give him a clean pocket, and he’ll happily spend the afternoon taking whatever the defense offers.
CP Is More Than Just Sports Picks!

Protection will be particularly important for Las Vegas, with guards Spencer Burford and Trey Zuhn III limited Thursday.
Cousins isn’t the type of QB who wants to spend the afternoon improvising while defenders arrive uninvited.
Maye brings greater mobility and the ability to extend plays when protection breaks down. Cousins offers veteran anticipation and a more established passing rhythm, creating a contrast in how these offenses handle pressure. The matchup could hinge on which QB stays ahead of the chains. Neither offense wants repeated third-and-long situations against a defensive front capable of disrupting the pocket.
Las Vegas Raiders vs. New England Patriots bottom line: New England’s ability to disrupt passing rhythm will be tested by a Raiders offense that has become considerably more dangerous with Cousins directing the attack.
Las Vegas Raiders vs. New England Patriots Football Betting Trends
- The Raiders have covered the spread in their last 5 regular season games, showing a perfect trend against the spread.
- Las Vegas is 4-0 against the spread as underdogs in their recent regular season outings.
- Plus, the Raiders have been successful after a win, going 4-0 against the spread in such scenarios this season.
- The Patriots have not lost a game when favored in their last 9 regular season contests, maintaining a strong straight-up record.
- New England is 4-0 against the spread as favorites in recent regular season games.
- Additionally, the Patriots have a 6-1 straight-up record in their last 7 home games, indicating home-field strength.
Raiders Patriots Free Pick: Patriots -3.5
Here is my Raiders Patriots free pick: New England Patriots -3.5. I’m laying the points with Mike Vrabel’s bunch because this is where I expect Las Vegas to discover that a promising September doesn’t automatically buy you a comfortable October. Three wins look nice on the standings page, but the schedule hasn’t exactly been a murderer’s row.
The Patriots have a chance to turn this into a test of patience rather than a scoring contest. That’s important because Kirk Cousins is much more dangerous when he can dictate the pace instead of waiting for his protection to hold up on obvious passing downs.
I don’t love laying the hook, and anybody who does probably hasn’t lost enough bets by a field goal. Still, New England has a realistic path to winning by more than one possession if it converts early opportunities into TD’s instead of settling for FG’s.
I’m betting on Vrabel getting the better of the important possessions, not on New England winning a highlight contest.
There’s a little situational appeal here, too. Las Vegas is playing an early East Coast kickoff against a team coming off a confidence-building road win, and I expect the Patriots to be ready from the opening whistle.
My biggest concern is New England’s banged-up secondary, which could keep the Raiders hanging around longer than I’d like. But if the Patriots protect the football and finish their scoring chances, I see enough separation to beat the number. Give me the Pats -3.5.
