The final week of the season is here and it basically means nothing for both of these teams. The Broncos have long been in the cellar and while the Raiders played better than many may have thought, the best they can finish is .500.
This should still be a decent game, at least for Las Vegas. They probably do not want their first season in a new city to be a losing one, so I expect them to play hard.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders lost a close game to Miami in week 16, losing by a single point. This loss of course, makes it impossible for them to have a winning season. Quarterback, Derek Carr threw for 336 yards in this game and did not turn the ball over. They had a couple of receivers with more than 100 yards as well, so we should see a similar type of game plan against Denver.
Despite their lackluster record, the Raiders are still the 10th best offense in the NFL. They have the 10th best passing offense and the 12th best rushing offense. Not only that, but they also are the 11th ranked scoring offense. Basically, their offense has not been the issue this season.
This means that their defense has clearly been the issue. They played decent against the Dolphins, allowing 383 total yards. As a whole, this Raiders’ defense has allowed 385 yards per game. That ranks 24th in the NFL. They struggle to stop the pass, ranking 25th and rank 22nd against the pass. The even bigger issue is that they allow nearly 30 points per game.
Denver Broncos
The Broncos are an awful team this season and that is being generous. Though they put up a fight against the Chargers last week, they still failed to pull out a win. Drew Lock was not good in this game either, throwing two interceptions.
The Broncos offense as a whole is among the worst in the country. They rank 27th in total yards, 28th in passing yards, but 14th in rushing yards. Still, they do not even score 20 points per game, so they will struggle here for sure.
The Denver defense has been decent at times this season, but are still not very good. They did only allow 316 total yards to the Chargers, but their offense failed to score so many times. The Broncos’ defense ranks 19th in total yards allowed, 12th in passing yards allowed and 26th in rushing yards allowed. They also give up nearly 28 points per game.
