After bouncing back against the Buffalo Bills the Chiefs will be on the road again to take on the Denver Broncos at the Mile High Stadium in Week 7 of the NFL season.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs will try to get their second consecutive road win as they travel to Denver this Sunday. Kansas City now has the sole position of first place in the AFC West with a two-game lead over the next team. They will come into this game on short rest as they took down the Bills on Monday night football 26-17.
Kansas City’s offense has continued to look great week in and week out. Patrick Mahomes is having another great season, but people expect it out of him by now after winning the Super Bowl last year. Mahomes has completed 144 of 219 passes for 1699 yards to go along with 15 touchdowns and just one interception. If Russell Wilson has one bad game, you could make the case that Mahomes is having the better season.
As a team, Kansas City is averaging 29.2 points per game which is good for ninth in the NFL. They are also averaging 6.2 yards per total play which is ranked 4th in the NFL.

Defensively, the Chiefs had their best performance of the season on Monday against the Bills. They held Buffalo’s high octane offense to just 17 points and 4.1 yards per play. Damien Wilson led the team in tackles with seven against the Bills and Daniel Sorenson had the game-sealing interception with less than two minutes to go in regulation. Kansas City is going to need their defense to step up yet again with this impending Broncos offense on the horizon.
Denver Broncos
Denver had themselves a nice upset victory the last time out against New England 18-12. Vegas had them as 9.5 points underdog, but the line eventually closed a 7.5. The Broncos scored all of their points on field goals and didn’t score a single touchdown.
Drew Lock returned to action for the first time since week 2 when he injured himself against the Steelers. Lock took a lot of risks against the Patriots and most of them paid off, but he did have two costly turnovers that almost let the Pats win the game.
Drew finished the game completing 10 of 24 passes for 189 yards to go with zero touchdowns and two interceptions. He did manage to get the team in field goal range six times though, and McManus put them all through.
Overall, the Denver offense needs to pick up if they are going to keep up with the Chiefs. As a team, the Broncos are averaging 20.0 points per game, but with Lock back from an injury that should improve.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Broncos +9.5
I think the Broncos are the right play in this game. Much like what the Chargers did against the Chiefs, Denver runs a zone defense which will force Patrick Mahomes to be on the move and use his legs the entire game. Mahomes has really struggled against zone coverage in the past at least I think that the Broncos will be able to cover the points. Drew Lock didn’t look great against New England in his last start, but he was also without his top red-zone target, Noah Fant. I think Lock will bounce back and put up some points against this Kansas City defense and he also should have back another weapon in Melvin Gordan who was suspended due to a DUI. Give me the Broncos and the points to cover on Sunday.
