An interdivisional matchup this weekend between the Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions. The Colts will be on the road and traveling to Detroit to take on the Lions.
The Colts are coming off their bye week, while the Lions had an amazing come from behind victory against the Falcons in the final minute of their game last Sunday.
Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis is coming off their bye week after getting a come from behind win against the Bengals two weeks ago. The Colts sit in second place in AFC South and are just one game behind Titans for top spot.
Everyone thought Philip Rivers was at the end of last season, but he proving people wrong as he is thriving in Indianapolis. Rivers has completed 138 of 198 passes for 1598 yards to go along with seven touchdowns and six interceptions. The stats might not reflect the impact he has made, but it’s exactly what Frank Reich needed for his offense. Rivers has been known to be a great game manager and that’s what is leading to success in Indy.
Jonathon Taylor is emerging as one of the best pass catching backs in the league as a rookie. Taylor is third among runningbacks in the NFL with at least 10+ receptions with 162 yards to his credit. He also leads the team in rushing with 367 yards and rushing touchdowns with three on the season.

Defensively, the Colts have struggled over the last few games with their all-pro linebacker Darius Leonard being sidelined for two games due to injury. Indianapolis is hopeful that he will play in this game, so that will be something to look out for come game time because he is what makes this defense click.
Without Leonard on the field, the Colts are gave up an average of 29.5 points per game in their two contests without him. With Leonard on the field the Colts are giving up an average 14 points a game, so it shows in the stats how big of a piece he is.
Detroit Lions
The Lions had one of the most miraculous comebacks in NFl history their last time out. When it looked like all hope was gone Todd Gurley accidently scored a touchdown with a minute left to go rather than kicking a field goal with time expiring to secure a Falcons victory. So it gave Matt Stafford enough time to do his thing and march down the field for a game winning touchdown as time expired.
Stafford has been very good this season, but it’s going under the radar because there are so many good QB’s in the league right now. Matt has completed 127 of 204 passes for 1580 yards this season to go along with his 10 touchdowns and four interceptions.
He has been a much better quarterback since getting his star wide receiver back in week 3 and it has shown in the stats. Since getting Kenny Golladay back from injury, Stafford has thrown seven touchdowns and just two intercpetions.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Lions +2.5
I like the Lions in this matchup. Detroit has been playing very good over the last month and still have shot at knocking off the Bears for the second spot in the division. Matt Stafford looks like he has reverted back to his prime with him slinging the ball over the field as of late. The Colts defense has shown that they can be scored on if they don’t have Darius Leonard back by this game, and even with him he won’t be 100% coming off an injury. Indianapolis has also struggled against the deep ball, which Matt Stafford has excelled at over the last month. Give me the Lions and the points to cover at home.
