The first game of the day on Saturday will see the Buffalo Bills host the Indianapolis Colts. The Bills were 13-3 this season, while the Colts were 11-5.
The Bills easily won their division and the Colts clinched a Wild Card spot because the Titans won on Sunday.
The Colts decision to acquire Phillip Rivers in the offseason paid off as they are headed back to the playoffs. They are coming off a 14-point win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, beating them 28-14. This was their must win game to reach this playoff game. The Colts struggled to throw the ball against Jacksonville, which gives me concern here. Though Jonathan Taylor ran for 253 yards on 30 carries and had two touchdowns.
The Colts’ offense is very balanced this season, ranking 10th in total yards, 11th in passing yards and 11th in rushing yards. They are a top 10 scoring offense as well. In this spot, I look for Taylor and the rushing offense of the Colts to try and control the tempo.
The Indianapolis defense is also looking solid, which gives them hopes of keeping Allen in check. The Colts are 8th in total yards allowed per game, 20th against the pass and 2nd against the run. They also allow just 22.6 points per game.
The Bills thumped the Miami Dolphins in week 17, beating them 56-26. This was not even a must win game for the Bills, they just are that good of a team. Josh Allen did not even have his best game, throwing for 224 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. I will say their rushing offense needs to be better because they had just 78 yards on the ground in the final week.
The Bills are averaging 396.4 total yards per game. This ranks as the 2nd best offense in the entire NFL. They are the 3rd best passing offense, but the 20th best rushing offense. Buffalo also averages about 31 points per game, which also ranks 2nd in the league.
Defensively, the Bills look to be improving every single week. They may have allowed 454 yards to Miami, but only 70 yards rushing. To go along with that, their special teams had a punt return touchdown and a pick six. The Bills’ defense ranks 14th in the league in total yards per game. They are 13th against the pass and 17th against the run. Those ranks seem mediocre, but this defense will be ready to play come playoff time.
- Under is 9-2 in IND last 11 playoff road games.
- Under is 11-3 in IND last 14 Sat. games.
- IND are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 vs. AFC.
- BUF are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Buffalo Bills -6.5
The Bills have been nearly unstoppable this season and I do not see them having trouble with the Colts. Josh Allen is too good right now, so I will look for the Bills to win by at least a touchdown.
