A pair of 1-6 teams will be facing off in an AFC South division battle as the Jaguars will hold host to the Texans this weekend in Week 9 of the NFL season. Both teams are coming off their bye week and should be well-rested coming into this game.
Expect a pretty sloppy game from both sides as they are two of the worst teams in the NFL this season.
Houston Texans
The Houston Texans will be coming off their bye week after suffering a loss to Green Bay in Week 7. It has been a miserable season for Texan fans as they sit at the bottom of the AFC South with a 1-6 record. They lost their leading receiver from last season and have already parted ways with their head coach/GM, Bill O’Brian this season.
Deshaun Watson hasn’t had many weapons on the offensive side of the ball this season, but he has done the best he can with what he has to work with. Watson has completed 166 of 239 passes for 2095 yards to go along with his 15:5 TD to Int ratio. He has also rushed for over 145 yards this season and is the team’s second-leading rusher behind David Johnson.
Watson may also lose another key player on the offensive side of the ball this week as there are rumors swirling that WR Will Fuller IV may be a part of a trade deal at the deadline. But keep your eye out for that news on Tuesday.

Willer Fuller leads the Texans in receiving with 490 yards this year and also has five touchdowns on the year. Fuller has two more touchdowns than the next closest receiver for Houston.
Jacksonville Jaguars
If you didn’t think it could get any worse for the Jaguars after starting 1-0 they have now lost six straight games and will be without their starting quarterback this week due to injury. Jacksonville will be without Gardner Minshew for at least this week due to a stress fracture in his thumb.
Doug Marone will turn to rookie QB Jake Luton to take over the job under center this week. Luton was the Jaguars sixth-round pick out of Oregon State this season and has just a week to get ready for his first NFL start. This is the second time in two years that Jags have selected a Pac-12 QB in the sixth round of the draft. He will be the sixth rookie this season to take a snap at QB in the NFL.
Luton in his final season at Oregon State threw for 2714 yards to go along with 28 touchdowns and just three interceptions in 11 starts for the Beavers in 2019. He handled the ball well and limited turnovers in his time at Oregon State, so we will see if that translates to the NFL.
Defensively, the Jaguars have struggled all season at giving up points. They are second to last in the NFL in points surrendered per game. Jacksonville allows opponents to score an average of 31.4 points per contest compared to the 22.4 they score on offense. They are also dead last in the league in takeaways as they only have forced five turnovers this season.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Texans -6.5
I like the Texans here to get right and rout the Jaguars. Jacksonville will have the sixth rookie quarterback starting this season and no one saw this coming. I think Deshaun Watson and the Texans offense has an opportunity to have their highest-scoring game of the season thanks to a weak Jacksonville secondary. Give me the Texans -6.5 to grab their second win and destroy the Jags down in Jacksonville.
