An NFC North showdown is going down at U.S. Bank Stadium as the NFC North defending champion Packers will take on the Minnesota Vikings on the road in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers finished 13-3 under Matt LaFleur’s first year as the head coach. Aaron Rodgers proved to the league that he shouldn’t be counted out as they advanced all the way to the NFC championship game after a disappointing 2018 season. Rodgers threw for over 4000 yards for the eighth time in his career and over 25 TD’s for the tenth time in 2019.
Aaron Jones will continue being the lead RB in LaFleur’s offense after a fantastic 2019. Jones led the league in rushing touchdowns with 16 on the year and only had 1084 rushing yards.
GM Brian Gutekunst did not do a lot to fix some of its depth issues at WR during the offseason. He refused to draft a quality wide receiver while deciding to draft another running back in the second round despite having a surplus at that position.

Kevin King was the lead tackler for the Packers on defense in 2019 and recorded a team-high five interceptions. Green Bay didn’t change much on defense, but the addition of Christian Kirksey at linebacker should help stop the run as that is what killed them in the NFC Championship game and plagued them all season.
Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings won their first playoff game since 2017 as a big underdog against the Saints in 2019 before losing the Super Bowl runner-up in the divisional round.
Offensively, the Vikings are led by quarterback Kirk Cousins who was pretty good last season throwing for 3,603 passing yards to go with 26 passing touchdowns. Cousins had 11 turnovers last year which needs to be addressed if he wants to have a more successful 2020.
Without Stefon Diggs, the Vikings are going to rely a lot on the run game this season. Dalvin Cook was Minnesota’s leading rusher last season with 1135 yards in just 14 games. Look for Alexander Mattison to be used more often this season as well as he showed promise as Cook’s backup in the last two games.
Defensively, the Vikings are stacked this year as they added another DE in Yannick Ngakoue from Jacksonville in the offseason to sit across from Danielle Hunter who was dominant in 2019. Hunter recorded 14.5 sacks in 16 games last season.

- The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Minnesota’s last 6 games against Green Bay.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Green Bay +2.5
I’m not buying into the Minnestoa hype this season. Even though the Packers seemed like they didn’t improve, no one is talking about how Minnesota actually got worse. The Vikings lost the best deep ball receiver in all of the league and replaced him with a rookie. I don’t know why people are overlooking Digg’s production, but oh well. Give me the Packers in a close one.
