The Titans will be squaring off with the Lions this weekend and trying to maintain the tie-breaker with the Colts for the division lead. The Lions are coming off a loss to the Packers 31-24, while the Titans crushed the Jaguars 31-10 in their last game.
The Lions moved to 5-8 on the season following the loss to the Packers. Detroit still has a longshot to make the playoffs if they win out and everything goes right in their favor. It’s going to be a tougher task than before as well because Matt Stafford is most likely going to miss this game against the Titans with a rib injury. He has yet to practice this week and interim head coach Daryl Bevel said his status is questionable on Thursday.
So it looks like we will have Chase Daniel start this weekend in Tennessee. Daniel has seen limited action this season in relief for Stafford. He has completed 11 of 19 passes this season for a touchdown and an interception. The last time Chase picked up a win in the NFL was with the Bears in 2018 against the Giants.
The good news for Lions fans is that DeAndre Swift is having a stellar rookie season. The running back is third on the team in yards from scrimmage with 656 yards this season, but he does lead the team in touchdowns with seven on the year.
Defensively, the Lions are broken right now and it doesn’t help that they just fired their “defensive-minded” head coach. They give up 29.9 points per game which is 29th in the NFL. They surrender 263.8 passing yards per game while giving up 132.8 yards on the ground per game.
Tennessee will try to take firm control of the division this weekend with a win over Detroit and Indianapolis loss. The Titans sit a 9-4 on the season and already have surpassed their season win total Vegas Projected at the beginning of the year.
Ryan Tannehill has been one of the most consistent quarterbacks all season in the NFL. Tannehill is a top-five quarterback this season statistically according to PFF. He has thrown for 3209 yards to go along with 28 touchdowns and five interceptions. His 28 touchdowns are ranked 11th in the league just two behind Tom Brady.
Derrick Henry season has arrived as he is pulling off with the rushing title this season. Henry has now amassed over 1500 yards on the ground this year and still has three games to go. He put up over 200 yards against a very bad rushing defense in Jacksonville and will face an even worse rushing defense this weekend with Detroit.

I’m going to take Tennessee and the number here. I don’t think Detroit has a shot with all the injuries they have suffered on both sides of the ball and not to mention that their best wide receiver has just stopped showing up. The Titans are red hot right now running down the stretch of the season and Derrick Henry is going to feast against this injured Detroit front. Give me the Titans to win by double digits against this Detroit team that is in shambles.
