We got a pair of winless teams ready to face off on Thursday night Football in Week 4 of the NFL season. The New York Jets are holding host to the Denver Broncos as they come to Jersey to try to pick up their first win. New York took one off the chin the last time out getting stomped on by the Colts 36-7, while Denver got crushed by the Buccaneers 28-10.
Denver Broncos
2020 seems like it’s going to be a lost year for the Broncos with all of the injuries. To name a few we have Von Miller, Drew Lock, Mark Barron, Aj Bouye, Phillip Lindsay, and Courtland Sutton. With three major pieces of the offense missing I don’t see how Denver is competitive in these games the next couple of weeks.
Vic Fangio has designated Jeff Driskel as the starting quarterback since Lock went down. Driskel hasn’t looked great on the field in the six quarters that he has appeared in this year. He has completed just 35 of 64 passes for 432 yards to go along three touchdowns and two interceptions. The offense line hasn’t helped out Driskel that much either allowing 11 sacks for 98 yards in his first two games of the year.
The Broncos did sign free agent Blake Bortles at the beginning of last week so look out for him to come into the game if Jeff Driskel continues to struggle.

Defensively, the Denver defense is led by FS Justin Simmons with the absence of Von Miller. Simmons signed the franchise tag tender in the offseason making him the second-highest-paid player on the Denver defense. Simmons leads the team in tackles with 23 and solo tackles with 18 so far in three games.
New York Jets
Things probably aren’t going accorded to plan in New York as the Jets open up the season 0-3 with some brutal losses. The Jets lost a good chunk of their offense due to injuries and are using no-name receivers to try to get the job done.
Jets are dead last in the league in rushing and second to last in passing on the season. This leads them to be the worst scoring offense in the NFL with 15 points per game. Sam Darnold is struggling in his second year in Gase’s offense and people are saying that it’s time for a change. Darnold has completed 59 of 96 passes for 562 yards to go with three touchdowns and four interceptions. Only Carson Wentz has more interceptions in the NFL with six.
It seems like the Jets are always playing from behind which forces Darnold to throw the ball more and with mediocre receivers it’s going to be hard to get down the field.
New York was expected to struggle on defense with the loss of Jamal Adams in the offseason, but they have looked terrible to start. The Jets are allowing 31.3 points per game which is shockingly not the worst mark the NFL. They are ranked 27th in the points allowed as the Falcons, Vikings, Cowboys, and Texans allow more.
NFL Betting Trends:

- NY Jets are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games.
- The total has gone UNDER in 6 of NY Jets’ last 9 games.
- NY Jets are 2-4 SU in their last 6 games.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Jets +2.5
I like the Jets to pick up their first win of the year as Denver is in really bad shape with all the injuries. Yeah, New York has a couple of injuries too, but mostly on the offensive side of the ball while the Broncos have missing pieces on both sides. I think Sam Darnold will be able to do enough against a short-handed Broncos secondary and lead the Jets to victory. Give me the Jets to cover the +2.5 and sprinkle a little on the money line if you like to double-dip.
