Sunday Night Football for week 13 will see an AFC rivalry game between the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are rolling right now and look to be on their way to a second consecutive Super Bowl. Meanwhile the Broncos are just trying to find a quarterback to actually play.
If you did not hear the news, the Broncos played their week 12 game with essentially no quarterback. All four of the quarterbacks on their roster were out due to contract tracing. That is the first reason why they lost to the Saints 31-3. They guy they ended up starting, went 1 for 9 with 13 yards. He of course did not throw a touchdown and had two interceptions.
It will not get any easier as Denver will hope to put up a better fight against the Chiefs. If they have no quarterback again, this is not going to happen. Even with their starting quarterback, the Broncos do not have a good offense. They rank 28th in total yards per game, 26th in passing yards per game and 14th in rushing yards per game. Somehow they only score 19 points per game, which ranks 31st in the league.
The Denver defense may appear to be decent, but they are not very good either. They just allowed 292 yards to the Saints, but still could not stop them from scoring. Denver ranks 10th in total defense, 8th in passing defense and 26th in rushing defense.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs proved to be too much for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they beat them 27-24 in week 12. Kansas City had 543 total yards in this game, led by 462 passing yards from Patrick Mahomes. He threw for 3 touchdowns and had no interceptions. The biggest headline for this offense was what Tyreek Hill did to the Bucs secondary. Hill had 269 yards receiving in this game and three touchdowns. The next highest receiver was Travis Kelce with 82 yards.
Kansas City is the clear number one offense in the league, averaging 425.8 yards per game and 314.5 passing yards per game. They do struggle to run the ball, ranking 18th, but are still scoring 31.6 points per game, so they are going to be fine.
The Chiefs did well to shut down the Bucs in the first half, but allowed them to make it close after halftime. They allowed 411 total yards to the Bucs, and will probably need to clean this up going forward. It should not be a huge issue against Denver, but overall they cannot allow teams to make these games tight.
Kansas City ranks 18th in total defense, 16th in passing defense and 23rd against the run. The good news is they only allow 21.6 points per game, which ranks 6th in the NFL
NFL Betting Trends:
- Denver are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games against Kansas City.
- Denver are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs -13.5
Regardless of who starts for the Broncos, Mahomes is going to have a field day throwing the football. I like the Chiefs to win convincingly.
