This week 10 matchup at Heinz field features two teams on opposite ends of the AFC North standings. Cincinnati sits at the bottom of the division standings with a 2-5-1 record, while Pittsburgh sits atop the division as the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL.
The Bengals earned their biggest win of the season in week 9, while the Steelers eked out a close win against the struggling Cowboys.
Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow has looked good and shown that he has the potential to be a franchise quarterback. Whether Cincinnati is an environment where he will be able to stay healthy and develop his ability to reach that potential is yet to be seen.
We have seen the former Heisman Trophy winner endure a lot of pressure and take a lot of big hits in the early stage of his NFL career.
He has not necessarily put up stellar numbers, but he has made the plays that are available to him and kept his team in a lot of close games.
Burrow has developed chemistry with Tyler Boyd and fellow rookie Tee Higgins, each of whom have caught three touchdown passes. He has not connected much with star receiver AJ Green.
Cincinnati’s defense will have their work cut out for them to contain a Steelers offense with a variety of weapons. The Bengals rank in the bottom half of the league in both points and yards allowed, giving up 407.1 yards and 26.8 points per game.
They have been able to force turnovers, as they’ve gone seven straight games with at least one interception. Coming up with turnovers will be important for the Bengals to put themselves in a position to get the win.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers arguably turned in their worst performance of the season in their week 9 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys led the entire game until Roethlisberger connected with Eric Ebron for the game winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter. They hope to regroup and come out sharper against Cincinnati at home.
Ben Roethlisberger has been cleared from the Steelers reserve/COVID-19 list to start on Sunday against the Bengals.
The 16th year quarterback has thrown for 18 touchdowns and 4 interceptions after returning from a season-ending elbow injury a year ago. Pittsburgh has benefited from having a host of young weapons to attack defenses with.
Five players have caught at least three touchdown passes, including Juju Smith-Schuster, Diontae Johnson, and rookie Chase Claypool.
The Steelers have taken advantage of having so many dangerous playmakers by targeting whichever weapons the defense don’t gameplan around. This has made the offense much more difficult for opposing defenses to contend with.
The Pittsburgh offense has a lot of playmakers, but their defense is one of the best in the NFL. They are allowing only 344.1 yards and 20.1 points per game. They have been a force to be reckoned with ever since they added Minkah Fitzpatrick by trade last year.
This Steelers defense is feared for it’s ability to rush the passer. TJ Watt, Bud Dupree, Cameron Heyward, and Stephon Tuitt cause nightmares for opposing offenses. Look for them to pin their ears back and get after Joe Burrow.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Pittsburgh is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games.
- Pittsburgh is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against AFC opponents.
- Pittsburgh is 8-1 SU in their last 9 games at home.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Steelers -7
The Bengals have been more competitive than their record indicates. With that being said, this matchup favors the Steelers. Cincinnati’s offense has struggled against strong pass rushes, and the Steelers are the best in the league.
The Bengals are allowing an awful 3.5 sacks per game, while the Steelers lead the league with 4 sacks per game. The Steelers won’t give Burrow a chance to take this one. I will take Pittsburgh to cover the spread.
