The Cincinnati Bengals will be on the road to take on the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, January 9th. The kickoff is set for 1:00 ET.
Cincinnati picked up a win in week 17, while Cleveland got a loss.
The Browns actually started off as a 1.5 point favorite and now they are a 3 point underdog. The total has gone from 46 to 42.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals have been a very impressive football team this year. I have liked what I have seen out of this bunch so far.
Cincinnati beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday by a score of 34-31. That might have been their most impressive win of their season.
Look, we knew this team was very talented and they have a bright future, but it seemed like when they went against good competition, they did not always step up to the plate. That changed on Sunday when they knocked off one of the best teams in football. This is a squad that definitely has the respect of the whole league now.
Joe Burrow finished the day on Sunday going 30/39 for 446 yards with 4 touchdown passes. He has been on some run and it is very fun to watch. Also, let me not forget how great rookie wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been. If this team is on their game, you have better watch out because they are a very dangerous bunch.
When it comes to their defense, they are not as good in that department, but they have made strides this year. Even though they allowed 31 points on Sunday, I actually liked the way this unit played because they only allowed a field goal in the entire second half. When a defense struggles early on, you want to see if they can make adjustments and they did just that.
Cleveland Browns
The Browns have been a very disappointing team this year. I do not think there is any other way to describe it.
Cleveland lost on Monday Night Football to the Pittsburgh Steelers by a score of 26-14. That game pretty much summarized how they played the whole year.
It is amazing how people were so high on this team at the beginning of the year and some even picked them to be a darkhorse Super Bowl team. When you do not have a lot of talent at the quarterback position, you are not going to win a lot of games, and that is what happened with this group.
In the loss on Monday, Baker Mayfield was 16/38 for 185 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 picks. He simply did not play very well this year and there is a very good chance that was his last game in a Brown uniform.
A lot of people have talked about how good this defense is, but I have not seen it. A good defensive unit does not allow Najee Harris to run the ball for 188 yards when it was obvious he was going to run. They have a lot of work to do in the offseason if they want to be considered a championship-level D.

4* Free Week 18 NFL Betting Prediction: Bengals -3
Of course, a big part of handicapping any game is knowing which players are going to be in and out. In this spot, it appears that Baker Mayfield will not be playing, which makes me like the Bengals pick even more.
Even if the starting quarterback for Cleveland was going to play in this game, I was not high on them. Regardless of who is under center for them, the Browns are a beaten-down team and it shows in the way they play.
Listen, the Bengals have already clinched the AFC North, but I still expect them to play this game as if it is any other game. I do not expect there to be any letdown for this club.
Joe Burrow has been on a tear lately and I think he will keep up his high level of play on Sunday. The defense for Cleveland is going to have their hands full.
I really did not think that the Browns would score all that many points with Baker in there, so why would I feel like they would have success on offense with Mullens or Kennum as QB? It is going to be very hard for this team on that side of the ball.
I like the Bengals laying the field goal on the road here.
