How will the Bears offense look with Kevin White the WR opposite of Alshon Jeffrey. Will Houston’s defense be the same with Jadaveon Clowney filling JJ Watt’s role?
Kick off is set for 1:00 PM ET with QB Jay Cutler of the Bears going up against Brock Osweiler of the Texans.
Has Jay Cutler reached his full potential. Every year it seems the media pundits expect Cutler to go out and have a huge season leading the team the playoffs, and seemingly every year he falls short.
Without Adam Gase calling the plays how will the offense look this year?
Matt Forte is no longer the guy in Chicago. His role will be filled by Jeremy Langford and Kadeem Carey. Expect a major downgrade in production from the RB position this year.
Alshon Jeffrey is one of the best wide receivers when healthy. If he can stay on the field for 16 games, he and “rookie” Kevin White will be able to put up a ton of points against a Texans defense without JJ Watt.
The Bears had the 4th ranked passing defense in the league last year. Going up against an unproven QB they should be able to exploit the weaknesses of the Texans O-line.
Brock Osweiler will look to lead the Texans to a division title this year in an underrated division. His large contract he received in the offseason has garnered harsh criticism so he must be up to task against a great pass defense.
Signing Lamar Miller could be the biggest offseason acquisition in the NFL. With the Texans being a run first offense, he should be in Pro Bowl contention all season.
He can easily surpass 2000 total yards in this offense.
DeAndre Hopkins is arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL. He will be the go to receiver in the passing offense.
Rookies Will Fuller and Braxton Miller have the speed and game-breaking ability to have this offense fly under the radar to start the season.
The defense will have 3 time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt ready to start the season in week 1. Jadaveon Clowney has shown all the traits that made him a former #1 overall pick.
I believe he has the ability to become just as dynamic as Watt, and can help Watt lead this defense to AFC championship caliber level.
NFL Betting Trends:

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Under 44.5
The Bears offense line will not be able to contain the Texans pass rush. Clowney has looked amazing all preseason and will pick up 2 sacks for the defense.
Look for DeAndre Hopkins to dominate Chicago’s secondary all day.
The deep passing game will set up Lamar Miller on the ground to pick up good yardage in the redzone.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Houston 24 – Chicago 7
Houston dominates the line of scrimmage, pressuring Cutler all day and giving Osweiler time to make the right plays.
