There might be a playoff path for one of these teams but definitely not both. That could make it interesting.
Minnesota started slow and then picked it up. It was the opposite for Chicago this season.
When they met last month we got a close game. Odds are we get another one.
Chicago Bears
After six straight losses, including one to Minnesota, the Bears finally won a game last week. They did it in grand style beating Houston 36-7. That was the most points they have scored and the least they have given up all season.
In the win, Mitch Trubisky looked good. In fact his numbers this season are better than Nick Foles, it is just really hard to change your narrative in this league. Having a running game helps too. David Montgomery rushed 113 yards, though 80 of that came on one play.
Out wide Allen Robinson continues to have a strong season. He is already over 1000 yards and should easily best his numbers from a season ago. The productivity is even more impressive when you consider who he has had throwing to him in Chicago.
As for the running game, it was the only spotlight on the offense as beast mode would finish the day with 95 rushing yards on 25 carries.
Almost a 100 yard day for the once retired football player.
Minnesota Vikings
When they lost four of their first five games, two of those losses for the Vikings were by just a single point. So the team knew they were not as bad their record show. Now they have to keep on pushing to try and make the playoffs.
Last week was a fail as they scored only 14 points in a loss to Tampa Bay. That was their lowest total since week 2.
Dalvin Cook has been a monster this season. Even though he missed a week to injury and had a couple of other where he was questionable, he has rushed for a career-high in yards and TDs with a few weeks to go.
Rookie receiver Justin Jefferson has also been coming on as the season has progressed. He is over 1000 yards on the season too and has proven to be a big-play threat.
The Vikings’ defense has been a disappointment most of the season. If they can find a way to come together late they might save the year though.
