An interesting Monday night Football game here as a below average 49ers team will continue their fight for the playoffs. Because of a ridiculous ruling in Santa Clara that now prohibits contact sports for the time being, the 49ers will play their next couple of home games in Arizona.
Buffalo Bills
The Bills won their week 12 game against the Chargers, but did not look amazing doing so. They won this game 27-17, but only gained a total of 332 yards of offense. Josh Allen did not look great either, throwing for 157 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The Bills rushing offense was much more impressive, rushing for 172 yards. They were led by Devin Singletary, who had 82 yards on 11 carries. Josh Allen provided the lone rushing touchdown and had 32 yards on the ground.
Buffalo’s offense ranks 11th in total yards, 7th in passing yards and 21st in rushing yards. The Bills also score 27.2 points per game, which ranks 10th in the league. I expect them to play much better here, especially in a game they cannot afford to lose.

Defensively the Bills looked great, even though they allowed Herbert to throw for 316 yards. They did shut down the Chargers run game completely, allowing 76 yards on the ground. Buffalo’s defense is about average to below average in most of the defensive categories. They are 21st in total yards allowed per game. They rank 18th in passing yards per game and 24th in rushing yards per game. The Bills also allow about 25.6 points per game.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers got a nice win against the Los Angeles Rams to hopefully keep them in the playoff hunt. They are still just 5-6, so they do not have much room for error at this point. Nick Mullens looks to be the starting quarterback going into this game and he just threw for 252 against the Rams. The 49ers still have a lacking offense, ranking 14th in total yards, 12th in passing yards and 16th in rushing yards per game. They also only score 23.7 points per game.
Defensively is where the 49ers are going to win their game from here on out. They allowed 308 total yards to the Rams and held them to under 200 passing yards. They also did a decent job stopping the run, allowing just 126 yards.
San Francisco now ranks 6th in total defense, 4th in passing defense and 10th in rushing defense. They are allowing just 23.1 points per game, which has helped keep them in games with that lacking offense on the other side.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Buffalo are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games against an opponent in the National Football Conference conference.
- San Francisco are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games at home.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Buffalo Bills -2.5
There is really no way I can trust this Nick Mullens led offense to keep up with Buffalo. The Bills have plenty of weapons and a good quarterback, so I like them to win and continue to hold a lead in the AFC East.
