Buffalo got Super Wild Card Weekend started with a nervy victory over the Colts, 27–24.
It was the Bills’ first playoff victory since December 30, 1995.
They will host the Ravens in the Division Round. Lamar Jackson got his first playoff victory after going one-and-done in the first two tries.
He also came back from being down double-digits for the first time in his career.
Baltimore Ravens
Tennessee jumped to a quick 10–0 lead in the first quarter of Sunday’s Wild Card game against the Ravens and then went quietly.
Baltimore’s defense was fantastic. It stopped Derrick Henry in his tracks and led the NFL’s leading rusher to 40 yards on 18 carries. It secured the victory with an interception of Titans’ quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
Jackson controlled the ground game on the other side of the ball, rushing 16 times for 136 yards and a touchdown. He completed 17 of his 24 pass attempts too for 179 yards.
But Baltimore was not without flaws. Jackson threw an interception and took five sacks. He did not get much down the field to his guys on the outside or even to Mark Andrews over the middle.
Consider the key in this matchup to be the defense and how well it can limit Buffalo’s terrific offense led by Josh Allen.
Buffalo Bills
The aforementioned Allen got his first playoff win too, by the way. He went 26 for 35 for 324, two touchdowns and added 50 yards and a score on the ground.
If Patrick Mahomes is alone as the best quarterback in the NFL, Allen is firmly in the second tier and perhaps as good as anyone else (though some would point to Aaron Rodgers).
Allen can’t run like Jackson but he’s pretty efficient down in the red zone and can move well in the pocket to avoid pass rush. What he has that Jackson doesn’t is a big arm that can really get the ball downfield.
That’s why there wasn’t a lot of sense of urgency in Buffalo when the Bills got down early against the Colts. Indianapolis failed to stretch out its early lead and the feeling was that it was only a matter of time before the Bills ripped off some chunk plays and got right back in the game.
That’s what this offense does. It can score in a hurry. Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis were all involved against Indianapolis and the running back combo of Devin Singletary and Zack Moss caught seven balls as a duo.
So the Ravens’ defense will be tested in a completely new way from last week. Instead of stacking the line and stopping the run, it will have to play air-tight in the secondary.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Buffalo.
The Ravens have great numbers against the pass this season. Only twice did they give up more than 300 yards passing — once against the Chiefs in Week 3 and another time against Cleveland in Week 14.
But they played against a lot of bad passing attacks and did not see Buffalo. They could be in store for a surprise. This Bills’ offense can move the ball in a hurry and that will make the difference in this one.
