The Buccaneers are not much bigger favorites in this home game against the Falcons than they were just two weeks ago on the road.
Tampa Bay got down big in that game before coming back to serve Atlanta a four-point loss. It wasn’t big enough to cover, however.
The Bucs may emphasize getting off to a better start this time around.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons would be better off losing this game. Because the Bengals and Eagles both have a tie, Atlanta can wrap up the third pick in the 2021 NFL Draft with a loss in this game.
If things go wrong and they find a way to win it, they could drop quite a ways, potentially up to five slots, depending on what some of the other teams around the league do and potential tie-breaking scenarios.
A win against Kansas City would have hurt just as much in Week 16 but the Falcons played it tough and nearly came away with a win, eventually losing 23–17.
Matt Ryan was sharp, as he has been for two weeks now, and connected with Calvin Ridley five times for 130 yards in the loss.
Julio Jones continued to sit and will almost certainly sit this one too, given the nature of Atlanta’s situation.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay clinched a postseason spot with its 47–7 drubbing of the Lions on Sunday.
Tom Brady had the best statistical half of his entire career with over 370 passing yards and four touchdowns. He never returned to the playing field after putting up those numbers in the first fifteen minutes.
So the Buccaneers are in and will make it their priority to stay healthy for their playoff game next week in this one.
That said, they can finish as high as third in the NFC and can fall as far as fifth, depending on how the Seahawks and Rams conclude.
Expect Head Coach Bruce Arians to play things straight-up. He won’t empty the bag of tricks or ride any one player too much but he should do what needs to be done to defeat Atlanta.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Tampa Bay wins and covers.
I wouldn’t go crazy in this spot but I do like it for a Buccaneer win and cover to finish the season.
The Bucs don’t need to win but they would certainly like to. Even more powerfully, however, will be the Falcons apathy in what is an obvious tank spot.
