The New Orleans Saints will stay home for the second consecutive week to take on the visiting Atlanta Falcons in Week 11 of the football season. The Falcons are coming off their bye-week after stringing together back to back wins, while the Saints took down a dismantled 49er’s team their last time out 27-17.
Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta comes into this game against the Saints with a 3-6 record after a terrible start to the season. Under interim head coach Raheem Morris the Falcons are 3-1 and have looked like a completely different team since their 0-5 start.
Since Raheem Morris took over the play-calling Matt Ryan is playing some very good football over the last five weeks. Ryan has completed 107 of 147 passes for 1274 yards to go along with an 8:2 TD to INT ratio. He also has a rushing score to his credit over that time span.
The Falcons are hopeful that WR Calvin Ridley with be healthy enough to return from a foot injury for this game after missing the last game before the bye. Ridley has emerged as the WR1 for the Atlanta offense this season and Alabama continues to be a powerhouse for the WR position. He has racked up 657 yards and six touchdowns this season to lead the Falcons in both stats.

The difference-maker for the Falcons team over the second half of the season has been their defense. Since Dan Quinn was relieved of his coaching duties Atlanta has been one of the better teams on the defensive side of the ball. Over their last four games, the Falcons have allowed 22.5 points which is good for 14th in the league since Week 5. The defense is playing with new energy as some players will be playing for their jobs next season with a new head coach coming in.
New Orleans Saints
After their win over the 49er’s last week, the Saints now hold the best record in the NFC which means if the season ended today they would be the one seed for the playoffs. Just as New Orleans thought everything was falling into place for them after a slow start, Drew Brees was knocked out of Sunday’s game and will miss a good amount of time with a rib injury.
Sean Peyton will turn to Jameis Winston in Brees’s absence to keep the rolling and try to maintain their top spot in the NFC South. Winston saw very limited action in the second half of the game against the 49er’s and was not asked to do much as they had a 10-point lead when he took over.
Winston last season was very, very volatile for the Tampa offense and hopefully, he can fit in with what Sean Peyton wants him to do in Nola.
Defensively, the Saints got even better last week when they activated Kwon Alexander after being traded from San Francisco two weeks prior. As a team, New Orleans is surrendering 23.7 points per game which is good for 13th in the NFL. The Saints have given up the most yards due to penalties this season on defense with 642 yards, but have been much better as of late.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Falcons +5
I think the Falcons and the points are the right play in this game. The Falcons are playing some very good football right now under interim head coach Raheem Morris and it seems that it has sparked a fire under this team. New Orleans will have to be firing at all cylinders without their hall-fame quarterback under center and have to rely on a guy who no one wanted six months ago. Jameis has the ability to stretch the field on the Atlanta defense, but that is only if Sean Peyton will allow him to throw the ball downfield. New Orleans will most likely try to utilize the run game which Atlanta has had a lot of success stopping over the last four weeks. If the Saints play conservatively like I think they are the Falcons should be able to give them a run for their money and get the win over them on the road.
