Kansas City will look to lock up the only first round-bye in the AFC with a win over Atlanta this Sunday. The Chiefs are coming off a quality win over the Saints 32-29, for their ninth straight win, while the Falcons blew another late lead to fall to the Buccaneers 31-27.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons looked like they were about to play spoil to Tom Brady’s Bucs on Sunday when they were up 24-7 halfway through the third quarter, but Tom Brady did his thing and led Tampa back from the 17-point deficit to will them to victory.
Quarterback Matt Ryan had one of his best games of the season against the Bucs secondary, throwing for 356 yards and three TDs, without turning the ball over. On the season Ryan has now thrown for 4,016 passing yards to go along with 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Calvin Ridley has emerged as the WR1 over the aging Julio Jones this season. Ridley has amassed 1,192 yards this season and has nine touchdowns to his credit.
While the passing game has been explosive this year, the ground attack has been struggling to get going. Todd Gurley has rushed for just 644 yards and but he does nine touchdowns. He is averaging a mediocre 3.5 yards per carry this season. Over the last five weeks, he has rushed just less than 10 times per game.
Atlanta has a bunch of injuries on the defensive side of the ball but are hopeful that a few key players will be back for this one. Ricardo Allen, Marlon Davidson, and Darqueze Dennard are all listed as questionable. Wide receiver Julio Jones is also listed as questionable after sitting out the last two games with a hamstring injury.
Atlanta is averaging 25.4 ppg which is ranked 15th in the league for scoring while allowing 25.2 ppg which is ranked 18th in the NFL.
Kansas City Chiefs
Andy Reid has the Chiefs rolling right now and are in search of their 10th straight win with a victory over the Falcons. They also have the opportunity to seal up the one-seed in the AFC with the win.
Patrick Mahomes has been stellar all season and is looking to capture his second MVP trophy this year. He has thrown for 4,462 yards and 36 touchdowns against just five picks.
Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce have been two of the top five graded receivers in the NFL this season according to PFF. Tyreek and Kelce have combined for 25 receiving touchdowns and over 2500 receiving yards this season with two games left. Hill leads the NFL with 17 touchdowns from scrimmage this season.
The CHiefs will be without rookie RB Clyde Edwards-Elaire for the rest of the regular season due to a high ankle sprain suffered in the third quarter of the Saints game. The rookie added on 803 rushing yards and had four touchdowns this season. It’s looking like LeVeon Bell will carry the workload for Kansas City moving forward.
Kansas City is second in the NFL in scoring at 31.1 ppg. They are allowing 22.1 per contest, which is the eighth-best in the league.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Over 54
I like the Over 54 to hit in this game. Either the Falcons are going to be able to keep it close with Kansas City due to all their injuries or the Chiefs are going to blow the Falcons out the water, leaving an opportunity for them to put up some garbage points. The Chiefs average 31.1 points per game, while the Falcons are averaging 25.4 points per game, so with that logic, the Over should hit easily. When facing the Falcons teams are attempting to pass 62.72% of the time and abandoning the run pretty much. With Clyde Edwards out the Chiefs should be passing the ball a bunch.
