Against all odds, it now looks like the Giants are going to take the NFC East.
Meanwhile, Arizona is seeing their season fall apart as they struggle in the second half.
Both of these teams need this game desperately. I am sure New York is hoping for a messy weather day.
Arizona Cardinals
Arizona has lost three in a row and four of five, they are slowly slipping from relevance in the NFC. They can put up points but their defense is really hurting them.
Last week they hosted the Rams, an important divisional game. They were badly outgained in the contest and Kyler Murray had a pick-six that sealed their fate.
It was one of Murray’s worst game of the season. The offense is missing Larry Fitzgerald and his lack of onfield leadership might be hurting the team more than they can measure.
Murray does not play defense though and he especially does not play defense in the fourth quarter. Until they can start playing more complete games the Cardinals are going to struggle.
This is a desperate spot and the Cardinals are far from home. I am kind of curious about how they perform.
New York Giants
New York’s win at Seattle last week might have been the most improbable win in the league this season. Even breaking it down a little it is hard to fathom.
For starters, the Giants were without their starting quarterback Daniel Jones. Next man up Colt McCoy is hardly considered a strong backup. He didn’t even play well either.
Wayne Gallman did though. The backup, now starting RB, rushed for a season-high 135 yards. That took a lot of the pressure off. They have been leaning on him a lot over their four-game winning streak.
The defense was impressive against Seattle holding the Seahawks to just 12 points. Russell Wilson had his second-worst game of the season. He has been up and down the last several weeks and the team’s performance has followed.
If the Giants can beat the Seahawks on the road there is no reason to think they can’t beat the Cardinals at home. The game prep would have been very similar too.

Still, this one is just picking the winner and as much momentum as the Giants have, I am still not buying them. McCoy is not a horse I would want to hitch my money too.
