2020/21 NFL Team Predictions – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Buccaneers 2021 Super Bowl Odds: +1600
- Buccaneers 2020 Win Total NFL Odds: 9 (Over -125)
Key Additions:
- Tom Brady
The list is short on names but long on Super Bowl rings. Tom Brady hinted at it for a while and he finally made the decision to ultimately leave the Patriots after 20 seasons to sign with the Buccaneers.
Brady will be 43 by the time the season begins and comes into Tampa on a two-year deal worth $50 million.
There will be more on Brady throughout. Tampa Bay re-signed most of its other key free agents, including Shaq Barrett (franchise tag), Ndamukong Suh and Jason Pierre-Paul.
Tampa will also have a chance to improve through the draft. It selects 14th in the first round of the upcoming draft.
Key Losses:
- Breshad Perriman
Perriman bounced around the league after being a first round selection of Baltimore in 2015 but he had the best season of his career last year with Tampa Bay.
He started a career-high four games and finished with 645 yards and six touchdowns, which were also both the best such totals of his career.
He signed a $6 million deal to play one season with the Jets.
2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Predictions: Off Season Analysis
Essentially, Tampa Bay added Brady without losing much anything at all.
Not only will Head Coach Bruce Arians have had a better grip on this unit in his second season but now he has the full support of Brady. Tampa Bay has the opportunity to look a completely different team than it looked in 2019.
And it looked pretty good at times in 2019. The offense probably won’t be as explosive as it was with Jameis Winston (who remains unsigned) but it will be so much steadier and less turnover-prone.
From a fantasy standpoint, however, Chris Godwin and Mike Evans probably both take a small step back.
And how can the addition of Brady not fire everybody on the roster up? Expect to see improved play from almost everybody, from the offensive line to special teams.
2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Win Total Prediction
Brady didn’t just sign here impulsively. He’s going to be 43 years old and wants to play these next two years (the final two?) at a high level with a team that will contend.
Drew Brees, the quarterback of the division favorite New Orleans, turned 41 in January. Both Atlanta and Carolina are trending down, especially the Panthers, who are starting over with a new coach, quarterback and more.
The Bucs are upstart with a potentially fearsome defense and some of the best skill position players in the game to go along, now, with the man many consider the greatest quarterback of all-time.
Brady will work with Offensive Coordinator Byron Leftwich, who entered the league after him and departed much sooner too. Leftwich probably stands to learn a lot.
2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Predictions: 11 Wins & 1st in the NFC South (Bet Now at any of our reviewed NFL Sportsbooks!)
Outside of the division, Tampa Bay plays the NFC North, the AFC West, the Rams and the Giants. It’s always hard to tell with NFL schedules but that doesn’t look bad, as it goes.
The oddsmakers played the win total tricky by setting it on a full number (9) and juicing the over. Still, I think Brady gets it over and the Bucs go to the playoffs by way of an NFC South Division title.
