On Wednesday, April 21st the Utah Jazz travel to Texas to play the Houston Rockets in their second meeting of the 2020-21 season. In the initial meeting on March 12th, the Jazz won 114-89.
The final game of the season series will occur in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 8th. The mirror image teams represent the best team in the league with 43 victories and 15 losses while the Rockets have dropped to the bottom ladder rung with 15 wins and 43 losses.
Last season, the squads played three times with the Rockets taking two of the three contests. The Jazz holds the all-time record having won 107 matches of the 205 played
Utah Jazz
With two consecutive games against the Lakers the Jazz sort of handed LA the first match with numerous players out injured or resting.
They came back with a vengeance in the second game, winning 111-97 despite not having Donovan Mitchell for either contest.
Jordan Clarkson led the Jazz with 22 points while Joe Ingles followed up his 20 points, 14 assists effort with 21 points, four rebounds, and five assists.
Rudy Gobert delivered a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Bojan Bogdanovic (19), Mike Conley (14), and Royce O’Neale (13) were the other double-figure contributors.
Ilyasova (hamstring) missed Monday’s match and is questionable for Wednesday. Mitchell and Udoka Azubuike are both out with ankle injuries.
Houston Rockets
The Rockets followed up their win versus the Magic with a loss to the Heat on Monday. That marks six losses in their last seven games.
Christian Wood is the cornerstone the team will build around. John Wall isn’t in the timeline for the new direction of the club but Houston is stuck with his albatross salary.
One big takeaway on the season is the Rockets were playing decent defensively for a good portion of the season. But with so many players out injured and the team fully invested in the tank, they’ve plummeted posting the worst defense in the last month.
Sterling Brown missed the last five games with a sore knee. Danuel House missed Monday’s match with an ankle sprain. Both are listed as day-to-day.
Four Rockets are out with longer-term injuries including D.J. Augustin (ankle) and Dante Exum (calf) who are both in walking boots.
Eric Gordon (groin) is expected to miss up to six weeks while David Nwaba (wrist) is also expected to miss an extended period.

Free Utah Jazz vs Houston Rockets NBA Prediction
The Rockets may be invested in the tank – but the Jazz has to be careful not to be lured into the ‘trap’ game. It should be an easy win for Utah, but Quin Snyder will need to ensure they come out aggressive and take care of business early.
