Utah shook off its first loss in nearly a month to win and cover a big number against the Pistons on Tuesday, 117–105.
The Jazz covered by the hook with a quick 5–0 run to end the game. Donovan Mitchell bounced back with 32 points after a poor showing against the Nuggets in his return from a concussion.
Mike Conley had 20 points and the combo of Royce O’Neale and Bojan Bogdanovic had 30. Utah didn’t play its best but still managed to win handily against a poor team.
Three road games in four days begins with this one in Atlanta. This will conclude the season series between the two teams. Utah blew out the Hawks in Salt Lake City back at the start of its winning streak last month.
Atlanta Hawks
Trae Young shot 1-for-11 and scored a season-low four points in that game.
He led the Hawks with 25 points in their last game against the Lakers on Monday but it wasn’t enough. Atlanta failed to even crack 100 points and lost, 108–99.
Cam Reddish started in place of the injured De’Andre Hunter and missed all four of his three-point attempts. That won’t help the young man’s confidence going forward and it’s important Reddish gives Atlanta good minutes with Hunter out.
Not to mention he’s a lottery pick who averaged double-figures as a rookie. Part of Atlanta’s long-term plan involves him blossoming into a quality NBA player. Hunter missing a month, at least, is his opportunity to establish himself.
The Hawks host the Mavericks on Wednesday so this will be the second of a back-to-back but there’s no travel involved.
