Once again the Raptors are dealing with adversity as two of their more frequent contributors are sidelined due to health and safety protocols.

It forced Nick Nurse to extend Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, and Fred VanVleet’s playing time while they had hoped to reduce it since the trio missed three weeks due to the virus.
Nurse spoke of his frustration after the loss: “It just seems like we’re just really in a run of injuries, illness, bad breaks, it’s frustrating.”
All five starters scored in double-figures with VanVleet leading the way (22 points) but the Raptors bench was outscored 65-24.
DeAndre Bembry and Paul Watson have missed the last three games in protocols. Kyle Lowry is playing through a foot injury. Patrick McCaw (knee) and Jalen Harris (right hip pointer) missed Monday and expected out again.
Oklahoma City Thunder
The white flag has all but been raised in Oklahoma City as the club invests in development and is helping their cause along with some roster decisions. Specifically, the franchise announced Al Horford will be a healthy scratch the remainder of the season.
VP Sam Presti will look for a trade partner this offseason for the big man but in the interim, he’ll work out with the club and provide mentorship of the youngsters the franchise wants to develop.
OKC has amassed an unprecedented 34 draft picks over the next seven years so having the team overperform wasn’t helping their overarching goal of finishing in the bottom of the league this season.
Helping their cause at the moment is several of the top talents on the team are injured including franchise cornerstone Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, defensive stopper Luguentz Dort as well as sophomore Darius Bazley.
Rookie Aleksej Pokusevski led OKC with 21 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Isaiah Roby was close to a double-double adding 12 points and nine rebounds.
Svi Mykhailiuk has appeared in six games with the Thunder but this was his first starting assignment as he scored 16 points. Tony Bradley who was traded at the deadline made his debut playing 14 minutes, collecting eight points and five rebounds.
The rookies got lots of action with Theo Maledon contributed 14 points, six rebounds, and an assist while Josh Hall chipped in 10 points.
Gilgeous-Alexander (plantar fasciitis), Dort (concussion protocol), Bazley (shoulder), Horford (shut down for season) are all expected to miss this game.
