Wednesday, January 20th finds Pacific Division rivals the Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Clippers meeting for the second time this season.
The Kings hold the all-time record with 116 wins in 215 meetings. Last season, the teams played three times with Sacramento winning two of the three meetings.
Sacramento Kings
A season that began with promise and hope has quickly shifted as the Kings are on pace to record the worst defense in league history.
Consider the scores and point differential the Kings have allowed in a trio of matches this month

Golden State posted a 137-106 win on January 4th. Four days later, the Raptors trailed by 19 points and came back to win by 21 points in a 144-123 oust.
The final match of this triad was tonight’s opponent who embarrassed the Kings via a 138-100 rout.
In the most recent loss to the Pelicans, the Kings young stars tried to keep their team in the match but eventually succumbed not able to close out the game in clutch time.
De’Aaron Fox posted a massive double-double of 43 points and 13 assists and was joined by Marvin Bagley III with his own double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds.
Buddy Hield (18) and Richaun Holmes (16) were the other double-figure contributors.
Hassan Whiteside missed the last two games with a sore hip and is questionable for Wednesday. Jahmi’us Ramsey also missed the last two games with a groin injury and won’t play versus the Clippers.
Da’Quan Jeffries is out indefinitely with a grade three ankle sprain.
Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers have won four games in a row with their offense flowing. And while the wins have been easy there are still areas of the defense that need tweaking.
In the most recent victory, the Clippers made the Pacers look like a lower-tier team in their 129-96 shellacking of Indiana.
They accomplished the defeat via balanced scoring that featured seven players reaching double-digits including three who scored 20. That trio was Paul George, Luke Kennard, and Marcus Morris.
Kawhi Leonard (17), Patrick Beverley (11), Nic Batum (10), and Patrick Patterson (10) were the other double-figure contributors.
LA opened the game building a 10-point lead, but put the game away in the third quarter behind a 39-20 effort. Without Myles Turner playing the Clippers attacked the paint scoring 56 points there and outrebounded Indy 61 to 41.
Serge Ibaka missed the last game with an illness but is probable to play on Wednesday.
Lou Williams missed the last two games with a hip injury and is questionable to suit up versus the Kings Jay Scrubb is recovering from foot surgery and out indefinitely.
NBA Betting Trends:
- LAC are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games.
- SAC are 2-9 ATS in the last 11 meetings.
- Favorite is 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings.
Free Sacramento Kings vs. Los Angeles Clippers NBA Prediction:
The over/under might seem excessive but this Kings squad hasn’t given any reason for teams not to think they won’t feast with the 30th ranked (120.5) defensive rating.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Clippers ATS
Sacramento ranks last in perimeter defense (40.2 percent), 25th for opponent fast-break scoring, and 29th for opponent points in the paint (52.9). That should equate to a massive offensive outburst by the Clippers.
LA could play down to their opponent but as the Blazers and Raptors proved no lead by the Kings is safe. I like the Clippers to cover and the over.
