Sacramento is not a great team, most recently coming off a 129-105 loss to the Sixers on Saturday. What the Kings do have is a day of rest though, something Cleveland cannot say.
The Cavaliers come into Monday night’s game on the back to back after an impressive 116-105 win over Toronto as +7.5 underdogs. Oddsmakers aren’t expecting much from the Cavs on the short turnaround though.
Sacramento Kings
It’s hard to have the Kings favored over anybody, no matter how many days of rest their opponents do or do not have. Then again, Sacramento did beat Boston 107-96 on Friday and Washington the game before.
The Kings’ biggest problem is their defense, which ranks dead last in the NBA in efficiency, opposing field goal percentage, and opposing three point percentage. The Kings have allowed 119+ in 7 of 9.
Sacramento can score too though, as their 114.5 ppg is 9th in the nation. A lot of that is garbage points from getting down too much, but the Kings’ 11th fastest pace could cause problems for a fatigued Cleveland team.
Sacramento is also on ‘getaway day’ though. They’ve gone 2-3 so far on their current East Coast road trip, but that wraps up on Monday night and Sacramento gets to head back home for the first time in 10 days.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The big questions here are a) what does Cleveland have left in the tank and b) was Sunday night’s win over Toronto a fluke? Collin Sexton had 36 points, while Jarrett Allen added 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Every Cleveland starter played over 30 minutes vs. the Raptors though. Sexton had 38 minutes, Darius Garland 35, and Allen 33. If the Kings can push this pace, Cleveland could burn out late.
Toronto also may have been favored by -7.5 points on Sunday night, but they have also now lost 8 straight games, making Cleveland’s win not as impressive.
The Cavs also beat Boston last week (and on St. Patrick’s Day of all things), but had lost 5 of 6 prior to the meeting with the Raptors. Cleveland is 11-11 at home, while Sacramento is 8-13 on the road.
NBA Betting Trends:

Free Sacramento Kings vs. Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Prediction:
Unless the Cavaliers plan on sitting somebody like Sexton, there’s no way Sacramento should be favored in any game right now, even if Cleveland is on 0 days rest.
The Kings do have a talented roster, but don’t play any defense and are especially bad on the post. Allen should dominate if he’s somewhat fresh, and Sexton has confidence after torching Toronto.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Cavaliers +4
Sacramento anxious to wrap up an East Coast road trip and head back home after the conclusion of Monday night’s game doesn’t hurt anything here either.
