Damian Lillard has not played up to his ability this year and frankly, it has been costing his team at times. Of course, other guys have to step up as well, but a lot of that responsibility falls on when you as the best player.
This is a team that I was pretty high on before the year started. Simply put, they have not lived up to expectations so far this season.
This team last played on Friday, where they lost to the Golden State Warriors by a score of 118-103. I cannot say the loss surprises me, but it would have been nice to see them compete a little bit more.
In the loss to Golden State, Damian Lillard scored 16 points on the night. That right there is a perfect example of how he simply needs to play better for his team. Scoring that amount of points is not going to cut it if you are supposed to be one of the better guards in the league.
Utah Jazz
The Jazz are once again having an impressive start to the season. This is a team that I do feel could go far.
Utah currently has a record of 13-7, which puts them in 3rd place in the Western Conference. The Warriors and Suns are both ahead of them.
This team has been led by their best player, Donovan Mitchell all year long. Not only is he a great player, but he is also a true leader for this ball club.
Utah beat the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday by a score of 127-105. They did just what they had to do against a team that is very bad at the moment.
A bunch of different guys stepped up in the win on Saturday. Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conely, and Jordan Clarkson all had at least 20 points in the victory. It is good to see a mix of people step up in these games for them.
