On Tuesday, March 23rd, the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat play for the first time this season.
The Suns hold the all-time record between the clubs with 34 wins in 63 meetings. Last season, the teams played twice splitting the two contests.
Phoenix Suns
Phoenix begins week 14 of NBA action seeded second in the West and leading the Pacific division. They were the first team to play the Lakers following LeBron James injury. Already having beaten the Lakers once, so the win Sunday means the Suns own the tiebreak.

With James and Anthony Davis both out and the Clippers still struggling with consistency and effort issues, the Suns have a very strong possibility of winning the Pacific Division which also serves as a tiebreak.
That might not matter much to the Lakers or Clippers but for a young Suns team looking to return to the playoffs gaining home court and a lower-seeded opponent could well be the difference in winning a playoff series.
Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton led the effort Sunday versus LA with 26 points while Chris Paul delivered a triple-double of 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists plus added three steals and a block.
Low key the Suns also picked up Torrey Craig who is a serviceable rotation guy with playoff experience. That Mike Budenholzer never worked Craig into the Bucks system (or even seemed to try to) – speaks to a lack of vision.
Miami Heat
The winning run came to an end with the Pacers getting the best of the Heat in consecutive games. Bam Adebayo has been in and out of the lineup recently and perhaps not fully healthy.
They enter this match on a three-game losing streak but still winners of 11 of their last 15 games. Granted they’ve had some tough competition but perhaps the bigger issue is the trade rumor whispers which have grown in intensity as the deadline draws closer.
The Heat have been linked to Kyle Lowry, LaMarcus Aldridge, and a number of other vets or stars. Victor Oladipo wants to end up in Miami but he hasn’t been in the mix of reports (yet).
That can’t help but take a psychological toll on a team as uncertainty runs rampant in the locker room.
Goran Dragic (back) is day-to-day. Avery Bradley has missed his 22 games with a calf injury and remains out.
NBA Betting Trends:
- The Heat are 7-3 in the teams last 10 meetings.
- The Heat are 6-4 ATS in the last 10 meetings between these clubs
- The teams are 3-7 in the over/under in their last 10 meetings.
