Sunday, December 30 finds the Philadelphia 76ers play the Portland Trail Blazers as they meet for the first time this season. In their last game on Thursday, the 76ers took down the Jazz in Utah. Portland also played Thursday in Oakland needing a clutch time Damian Lillard shot to beat the Warriors and will be playing the front side of their back to back set Saturday in the rematch.

Even with the win though the 76ers depth remains a question as does their spacing. It’s likely new GM Elton Brand will be active leading up to the trade deadline in order to add some shooting and floor spacing.

Essentially the only contributing player Philly got back in return for those exits was Jimmy Butler (and Justin Patton when he finally gets healthy).

In the defeat of the Warriors on Thursday, Jusuf Nurkic posted a team best 27 points, adding 12 rebounds in his double-double performance. The talented backcourt was also a factor as CJ McCollum scored 24 points while Damian Lillard had 21 points and hit the game-winning jaw-dropping 3-pointer.

Portland excels at home versus their road play but will be in tough on Saturday as the Warriors look for revenge. Heading into that game the Blazers were 6-4 in their last 10 games.
Anfernee Simons (upper-respiratory infection) remains out with no confirmed return date.
