Philadelphia 76ers
Philadelphia was the first team to lose to Cleveland at home this season. The Cavs earned their first road win of the season on Friday night, 121–112.
Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, Jimmy Butler and JJ Redick all had between twenty-two and twenty-four points but Butler left the game with a sprained ankle and didn’t come back. I’d be surprised if he plays in this one but, then again, he’s Jimmy Butler.

Former Bucknell Bison Mike Muscala continues to take on a bigger and bigger role with this team off the bench. He’s shooting close to thirty-five percent from three and over fifty from two in over twenty minutes a game now.

Landry Shamet is proving to be a valuable draft pick at the end of the first round this season. He’s playing big minutes (twenty-nine against the Cavs on Friday night), along with TJ McConnell in the backcourt.
Markelle Fultz didn’t play the night after getting yanked in favor of McConnell. Rumor has it he wants out of Philadelphia and I would have a hard time believing the Sixers are broken up about that. What a disaster.
Brooklyn Nets
The Nets have the scheduling advantage in this one, having played early on Friday afternoon at home and requiring no travel to be ready for this game on Sunday.
Brooklyn has gone 1–3 since last weekend, its only win coming against Miami. Most recently, it lost to Minnesota in that Friday matinee. Spencer Dinwiddie and Joe Harris (who’s now listed as a forward) led the way with eighteen points apiece.

Dinwiddie has been coming off the bench, while Allen Crabbe continues to start. Crabbe has been positively dreadful this season after signing that big contract ahead of last season.
He’s scoring just over eight points a game on 31 percent from three. Unbelievably, he’s been even worse from two, where he’s shooting shy of twenty-eight percent.
Crabbe’s lack of anything productive hasn’t helped D’Angelo Russell any. Crabbe’s starting backcourt mate is scoring but he’s just shooting forty-one percent from the field. His 5.4 assists per game are an improvement but the smallest improvement yet, year-to-year, that he’s experienced since breaking into the league in 2015.

Free Philadelphia 76ers vs. Brooklyn Nets NBA Prediction: the Nets get one.
Philly owes a better defensive effort in this one after what happened against Cleveland but the Nets are tough and the Sixers may not have Butler.
