After four games in Texas, the Warriors are back at home for the first time in nine days.
Orlando won’t be home for another week. It’s West Coast trip is still toward the beginning, with this the first of of a back-to-back.
Orlando Magic
The Magic held in for the cover in a nine-point loss to the Trail Blazers on Tuesday.
Nikola Vucevic continued his fine play with 27 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, two steals, two blocks and just one turnover. Terrance Ross had 22 off the bench.
Cole Anthony, Orlando’s starting point guard with Markelle Fultz and Michael Carter-Williams out, didn’t record a single assist and turned it over twice.
With the vacuum at point guard, former Kansas guard Frank Mason is getting big playing time as of this week. He played more than 31 minutes against Portland and had 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Not only are is the Magic razor-thin at point guard, it is still without Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier, two of its best scorers and veteran players.
Vucevic played 41 minutes to simply keep Orlando in the game in Portland. Ross played 31. Orlando is pushing itself to the limit just to avoid blowouts and that will catch up with it soon enough.
Golden State Warriors
The Spurs slowed things down and beat the Warriors on Monday. But Golden State came back the next night and won in a blowout, 114–91.
Stephen Curry continued to pile up the points. He went 11-for-20, including a modest 4-for-10 from three-point range, for 32 points. He only turned it over once.
After looking less than his best in the first game against San Antonio after returning from injury, Eric Paschall was better on this night. He made 6-of-7 shots for 15 points, six rebounds, two assists and no turnovers.
Both Kevon Looney and James Wiseman sat out again. The Warriors did fine on the glass, however. Kelly Oubre led the way with 10 and eight other guys had at least three.
Golden State shut Wiseman down for a week to ten days at the start of the month so his re-evaluation will be coming up. Looney remains out at least another week. Don’t count on either one suiting up for this one.

Free Orlando Magic vs. Golden State Warriors NBA Prediction: Orlando again.
The Magic is horrible but the Warriors may still be hard-pressed to make this one a complete blowout.
Golden State will catch the public action, however, and face a big number to cover the spread. That will act in favor of anyone with enough courage to back Orlando. I’ll take my shot.
