The Oklahoma City Thunder face the Phoenix Suns as the teams meet for the first time this season.
The Suns hold the all-time record between the squads with 128 victories in 242 meetings. Last season these clubs played three times with the Thunder winning two of three contests.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Road victories defined this young club to start the season as they collected five wins in six road games. They’ve leveled off in their current road trip with a single victory versus the Blazers.

This is the last stop on that trip and the Thunder will look to take on former captain Chris Paul for the first time this season.
In the victory over the Blazers, the youngsters avoided an early bad trend of getting out to slow starts. They jumped on Portland 34-24 in the opening frame and rode the lead to the win.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led his squad with 24 points, nine rebounds, six assists, a steal, and two blocks. Mike Muscala (23), Darius Bazley (19), Isaiah Roby (16), and Hamidou Diallo (11) offered double-digit scores.
Both veterans may be out of the lineup on Wednesday as George Hill deals with a sore thumb that kept him out in Portland.
Al Horford has missed the last five games spending time with his family as they welcomed their daughter. Josh Hall (illness), Ty Jerome (ankle), and Trevor Ariza (personal) all out indefinitely.
Phoenix Suns
Last season the OKC Thunder was the best clutch time team so it’s interesting Chris Paul who led that effort isn’t having the same success in Phoenix yet — the operative word being YET.
Phoenix got out to a blazing season start winning six of their initial eight matches. Since then they’ve won just twice in the next seven matches.
Making matters more concerning is how they are losing. Although Deandre Ayton got out to a rough start he’s playing much better as of late but it’s not translating into victories for the Suns.
More concerning is Devin Booker and Paul aren’t meshing as well as the veteran did with Gilgeous-Alexander in OKC.
In fact, the Suns are registering better differentials when the pair are split. Monty Williams needs to sort this out because the path for the Suns to reach the playoffs has to feature that backcourt.
Phoenix is desperate for a win having lost four of their last five games including two in overtime to the Nuggets.
In their last match, Chris Paul was a rebound shy of a triple-double (21 points, 13 assists, nine rebounds, two steals).
Ayton also registered a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds. Jae Crowder (21), Cameron Johnson (19), and Mikal Bridges (11) pitched in double-digit scores.
Devin Booker is dealing with a hamstring injury that kept him out Saturday versus the Nuggets and is expected to sideline him Wednesday.
Dario Saric and Damian Jones missed the last three games recognizing the health and safety protocols. Saric will continue to be out while Jones is listed as questionable.
NBA Betting Trends:
- OKC are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games.
- PHO are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games.
- Under is 9-3 in PHO last 12 vs. Western Conference.
Free Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Phoenix Suns NBA Prediction:
Motivation will be key for both teams. The Thunder will be motivated to beat their former captain while the Suns want to end their two-game losing streak (and four of last five).
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Suns ATS
Even though the Thunder only brought back six players no one knows them better than Chris Paul. Driven by a desire to get back in the win column and his competitiveness look for CP3 to have a big game.
