After a solid week of producing a career-best score (42 versus Jazz) and strong offensive efforts Luguentz Dort was out with a right hip strain versus the Wizards and is questionable for Wednesday.
Isaiah Roby (toe) Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (plantar fasciitis), Josh Hall (knee), Mike Muscala (ankle), Gabriel Deck (not with team) are all expected to be out.
Indiana Pacers
Just as it seemed the Basketball Gods were leaning in favor of the Pacers with the Hornets continual descent down the ladder injury news for both teams shifts their direction dramatically.
To wit, rookie LaMelo Ball who was expected to miss the remainder of the season got his cast off and now seems destined to make a return.
Simultaneously, the Pacers got news Myles Turner has suffered a tear of his plantar plate in his big toe that will keep him out indefinitely.
Entering this match the Hornets reside in eighth with a two-game lead over the Pacers who sit ninth with a two-game pad over the Bulls and Wizards and 2.5 game edge over the Raptors.
Of the five clubs the Wizards and Raptors have performed the best through the last 10 games. It should make for a dramatic final 15 games down the stretch.
Domantas Sabonis (back) and Jeremy Lamb (knee) didn’t play Monday and are questionable for Wednesday. Turner (toe) as noted is out as is T.J. Warren (foot) who is out for the season following foot surgery.
