The Milwaukee Bucks are huge favorites when they square off with the New York Knicks from Fiserv Forum on Thursday. Oddsmakers have set the line at the Bucks -14.5 as the home team rides a 7-3 stretch over their last 10 into the game.

New York comes into Thursday night’s game having dropped 5 straight and 9 of 10. These two teams met up on Christmas day just a short while ago with Milwaukee scoring a 109-95 win as +10 road dogs at Madison Square Garden. Tonight’s line is reflecting a very similar game as the one two days ago.

New York Knicks

The Knicks were only down 2 at the half on Christmas before a Milwaukee run of 36-22 in the 3rd sealed the deal. There were some good things coming out of New York’s side heading into Thursday’s rematch. One of the most important being that the New York defense held the Bucks to 44% shooting from the field including 6-32 from 3 point range.

Another positive for New York is that they outrebounded Milwaukee 57-51 on Christmas. Five Knicks players scored in double figures led by 21 from rookie Kevin Knox. What doomed New York was a 36% shooting night from the field. They can’t be that bad again…can they?

New York has looked pretty bad lately overall. They’ve been underdogs in 7 of the last 10 games and have still gone just 2-8 ATS over that span. The Knicks did steal a win in Charlotte on the road 13 days ago but otherwise they haven’t won away since November 25th.

The Knicks’ 5-14 road record is going to especially be put to the test vs. a Milwaukee team that is 14-3 at home. Not many people are giving NY a chance at the outright win but 14.5 is a ton of points.

New York has scored a win over the Bucks this season, a 136-134 OT win on December 1st. Three New York players notched 21+ points in that contest showing that the Knicks have the balance to at least keep Thursday night’s game close.

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks should be good to go on Thursday night mostly due to the fact that they are back home for just the 2nd time the last 8 games. Milwaukee is prone to some slip ups at home despite their 14-3 record. Losses have come against Phoenix as 13.5 favorites and Memphis with a -9.5 line. A 10 point defeat to Golden State is their other loss.

Milwaukee puts the league’s #1 scoring offense in action Thursday against a Knicks team that has given up 119+ in 5 of 10. The O/U of 224.5 looks like a solid ‘over’ play except for the fact that New York has broken 110 in just 2 of the last 10.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been huge vs. the Knicks this year, going for 33 points/19 rebounds and 30/14 the last two games. Milwaukee will look for that same production as they begin a 6 game home stand with 1st place in the East in their sites.
