The only major category the Cavaliers won in Game 3 was points in the paint (46 to 42), but they need to be even more aggressive in the paint to halt the Knicks’ celebration.
Evan Mobley has shown up and is performing well, but the Cavs have yet to get their big 4 all producing in the same game. Jarrett Allen had two big performances in Game 7’s, so perhaps he’ll have his best effort now that their backs are against the wall.
Four teams in the NBA have allowed 20 made 3-pointers in eight or more games with Cleveland among that quartet. The Cavs are 2-6 in those matches (per John Schuhmann).
New York is rolling as the hottest team offensively remaining in the postseason. Meanwhile, the Cavs look like a team that’s played 17 playoff games and is fatigued from the wear and tear.
To wit, watching Game 3 felt like an A squad facing their G League team, and I’m not sure much will change in Game 4.
For that reason, I’m rolling with the Knicks to win and cover… grab the brooms.
