New Orleans currently sit 5.5 games out of the 8th and final playoff spot, but there’s not a person in the world who thinks they can make the push for the post season. If there were, they would sure as hell be playing Anthony Davis to his full extent, instead of resting him as much as they can get away with without getting fined by the league.
In their win over Denver Saturday night, the Pels shot 48.9% from the field, and a very impressive 40% from beyond the arc. They struggled as a team from the stripe though, hitting only 18 of 26 free throw attempts, coming in at 69.2%. Still, it was enough to walk away with a win at the 2nd place team in the conference.

In that game, Jrue Holiday had a game high 29 points for New Orleans, and Julius Randle had a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds. All in all, six Pelicans players were in double digits in scoring, including three off the bench.
Injury Report: SG Trevon Bluiett and PF Jason Smith are both listed as “out” for New Orleans on Monday.
Utah Jazz
The Jazz enter Monday winners of four straight, with wins over three straight playoff teams: Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets and the Milwaukee Bucks. Safe to say they should be able to handle the Pelicans no problem, but stranger things have happened before.
The Jazz sit in the 6th spot in the West coming out of the weekend, a full game behind the Houston Rockets, and two games ahead of the San Antonio Spurs, so a win here is pretty important for them if they want to keep pace with the rest of the division.

In their win over the Bucks Saturday night, the Jazz shot 45.8% from the field and 41.4% from three point land. They really missed the mark from the charity stripe though, making only 15 of their 26 free throw attempts. Shooting under 70% from the line is going to spell doom more often than not.
Donovan Mitchell had a game high 46 points in that win over Milwaukee, and Derrick Favors followed that up with a double-double, with 23 points and a game high 18 rebounds. Joe Ingles was the only other Utah player scoring in double figures with 14 points in 32 minutes.
Injury Report: PG Raul Neto is listed as “questionable” for Monday, while PG Dante Exum is listed as “out” for Utah.
