Zion Williamson’s hamstring injury has cost him the last 14 games and counting (22 in total) plus CJ McCollum and others have missed games.
Zion’s absence has been the most costly with the team dropping to eighth in a four-way tie with the Warriors, Mavericks, and Suns plus the Jazz and Thunder trail them by just a half and full game respectively.
With the latter two having easier upcoming schedules (OKC will play the Rockets three times in the next eight games) and being relatively healthy it could result in the Pelicans dropping under them if they don’t course correct soon.

Denver Nuggets
The dog days of winter are upon us and with it were witnessing an uptick in players either trying to fight through nagging injuries or getting additional rest due to fatigue.
Denver is among the teams in this mix and that’s not surprising given how hard their first-half schedule was, and the numerous road games.
Moreover, Nikola Jokic has played through wrist and hamstring soreness while Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. are likely among those feeling the fatigue to a greater degree because of their extended injuries last season.
Stats
Denver possesses the best offense in the league highlighted by scoring 116.5 points per game ranking eighth while shooting the second-best field goal percent of 50.8% effectiveness and the top-ranked perimeter efficiency of 39.6%.
To be sure, defensively the Nuggets are improving. So far, they allow opponents to score 112.7 points per game which ranks 13th while limiting foes to 47.9% from the field and 35.0% from deep ranking 22nd and seventh respectively.
On the positive side, Nikola Jokic (hamstring) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (wrist) were upgraded to probable but the negatives are multiple with Jamal Murray (knee), Bruce Brown (knee), and Michael Porter Jr. (personal) all questionable for Saturday.
