Here is my Thunder Warriors free pick. It sure feels like the Wolves should have a better record than they do, and much of that comes down to how they play in the clutch. They are 6-5 in the 11 occasions they’ve reached clutch time.
Of the five losses, the Wolves led in most of them, but coughed up the lead and weren’t able to stop the bleeding once it began.
In the last three games the Warriors held opponents below 100 points and have polevaulted all the way up to second best defensive rating behind this solid play.
To that end, don’t be surprised if the Wolves are one of the most active teams heading into the trade deadline because tweaks are needed.
Likewise, the Warriors are a piece away (at least) from joining the upper echelon in the West. Kuminga has been held out as a healthy scratch (CD DNP), so to expect he’ll be with the team past February seems unreasonable.
With Steph back, expect the Chase Center to be buzzing, so take the Warriors to win and cover. I also like the under in this match.
**Of note: Anthony Edwards is listed as a game time decision with a foot injury. If he can’t go, then I like the Warriors even more with an uptick in scoring.
