On Monday, January 18th, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Atlanta Hawks will meet for the first time this 2020-21 campaign.

KAT lost his mother and six family members to the virus and was having a hard time finding any joy on the hardwood without his Mom and number one fan in the stands.
Still, he approached this season with the hope of the team getting to the postseason captaining them to two wins to start the season, but in the second game, he dislocated the wrist he’d previously broken. That kept him off the hardwood for the next six matches (all losses).
When he returned to the court Minnesota was had a back-to-back to play but coach Ryan Saunders took precautions only playing him in the first game set which the team only used him in the first game.
He played once more before testing positive for the virus. In that game versus the Grizzlies, he registered a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds. Malik Beasley scored 28 points while D’Angelo Russell produced 25 points.
Josh Okogie (hamstring) is probable for Monday. Ricky Rubio is undergoing health and safety protocols while Jake Layman was out the last game for personal matters. Both are questionable for Monday.
Juan Hernangomez also tested positive for COVID-19 and like KAT will be isolated for a minimum of 10 days.
Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks have won once in the past seven games with the most recent loss coming against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Despite posting a double-double of 26 points and 11 assists Trae Young continues to struggle. His 12 trips to the charity stripe augmented his scoring total as the youngster shot 7 of 23 from the field and 1 of 9 from deep. Moreover, he had five of the Hawks’ 13 turnovers.
Clint Capela also registered a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds. De’Andre Hunter and Kevin Huerter scored 15 and 13 points respectively as the other double-figure scorers.
Cam Reddish missed the last game with a knee contusion and is questionable for Monday.
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) is out until month-end. Rajon Rondo (knee), Kris Dunn (ankle), and Bogdan Bogdanovic (knee fracture) are out indefinitely.
