Friday, December 9th, the Milwaukee Bucks and Dallas Mavericks meet for the second and final time this season. Milwaukee won the initial November 27th contest 124-115.
Milwaukee enters this match following a 126-113 victory versus the Kings on Wednesday while the Mavericks outlasted the Nuggets winning 116-115 on Tuesday.

The Mavericks continue to be one of the better defensive clubs albeit very handsy and physical. They abandon offensive rebounds to get back and defend the transition and impede fast breaks. And that works with most teams who don’t have a unicorn like Antetokounmpo.
In their first meeting, the Bucks scored 73 points in the first half and while the Mavs countered with 62 they never seriously challenged leading to Giannis only needing to play 29 minutes (30 points, 11 rebounds).
Kidd knows Giannis well, but even he knows there isn’t a single player on the Mavs who can defend him in single coverage, nor are they athletic enough to form the wall.
So they’ll probably try to stop everyone else while the Bucks will look to shut down Luka’s passing lanes and pay extra attention to Hardaway Jr. (or whoever starts to get hot from the perimeter).
It’ll also be a fight to control the pace with Dallas wanting to slow the game to a crawl while the Bucks will look to rebound and run. I’m betting on the latter winning that battle.
