Friday, April 30th finds the Milwaukee Bucks playing the Chicago Bulls for the second time this season. The initial meeting was won by Chicago (126-96) on January 1st. The final meeting will occur in Chicago on the final game of the season.
Last season, the squads played four times with the Bucks sweeping the season series. The Bulls hold the all-time record having won 131 matches of the 253 played
Milwaukee Bucks
Although the teams constantly in the spotlight as being the most likely to win the Eastern Conference are the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers it’s important to not forget about the Bucks.
Each of the last two seasons Milwaukee finished with the best record in the NBA and while they reside in the third spot they could still move up though there is work to do. Milwaukee trails the 76ers by 1.5 games and the Bucks by 4.5 games.
Milwaukee didn’t do themselves any favors losing to the Rockets (badly) on Thursday 143-136 and it was in regulation!
The big takeaway from the match was Giannis Antetokounmpo went down in the opening minutes with an ankle injury.
The Bucks allowed malcontent Kevin Porter Jr. to score 50 points but make no mistake the focus in Milwaukee won’t be on how the defense failed but rather how long their star will be out.
Khris Middleton led the Bucks with 33 points and eight assists while Jrue Holiday delivered a double-double of 29 points and 10 assists. The other career performance of the game came from Bryn Forbes who delivered 30 points.
Giannis will be reevaluated but given he already was questionable for Thursday with an existing ankle injury it’s likely he’s out Friday. Axel Toupane (oblique) missed the game Thursday and is questionable for Friday.
Chicago Bulls
Mired in a fight to get into the play-in tournament the Bulls will look to take advantage of the Bucks if Antetokounmpo can’t play.
Given the 25 perimeter shots scored on Milwaukee by the Rockets, you can be sure Billy Donovan will have his crew prepped to fire away from deep in this matchup.
Zach LaVine hasn’t played in eight games as he deals with the COVID-19 virus. His team has an even record of 4-4 without their star with wins versus the Cavaliers, Celtics, Hornets, and Heat.
Chicago last played since Wednesday in a 94-113 loss to the Knicks. Nikola Vucevic has tried his best to carry the Bulls and led his squad with a 26 point, 18 rebound double-double on Wednesday. Lauri Markkanen scored 14 while Coby White and Garrett Temple each scored 12 points as the other double-figure contributors.
Vucevic is listed as probable for Friday but is dealing with tightness in his right adductor. Troy Brown Jr. (ankle sprain) and LaVine (health and safety protocols) are both listed as out Friday.

Free Milwaukee Bucks vs. Chicago Bulls NBA Prediction:
Much will depend on which players are available are out injured. Although not having Antetokounmpo isn’t ideal if Vucevic also can’t go that favors the Bucks.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Bucks ATS
Regardless of whether Antetokounmpo can play or not, you can bet Mike Budenholzer will expect a much improved defensive effort after allowing 143 points on Thursday.
