The marquee match of Martin Luther King Jr. Day features a potential preview of the Eastern Conference Finals as the Milwaukee Bucks play the revamped James Harden version of the Brooklyn Nets
Last season, the teams played just twice due to the pandemic with each club securing a victory. The Bucks hold the all-time record winning 102 of the 176 matches.

With pundits jumping on the new Big 3 in Brooklyn the Bucks and Giannis Atentokounmpo will want to deliver a statement game to remind everyone they don’t intend on going anywhere.
Their most recent victory came versus the Mavericks who were shorthanded but included both Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. It was one of the few times the Bucks were in a close match as their tendency is to win games by double-digits.

Brook Lopez posted a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds while Khris Middleton scored 25 points and Jrue Holiday chipped in with 16 points.
Torrey Craig had surgery to repair a broken nose which will keep him out likely until the end of the month. He’s the only Bucks player on the injured reserve list.
Brooklyn Nets
The Nets’ debut of James Harden was spectacular as he reunited with former Thunder teammate Kevin Durant.
Harden’s temper tantrum delivered his trade wish and it was clear immediately the superstar was just going through the motions in Houston.
Harden registered a triple-double of 32 points, 14 assists, and 12 rebounds with four steals. It wasn’t all perfection as the bearded star came one turnover short of delivering a quadruple-double and his perimeter shooting is still off (3 of 10).
Kevin Durant produced a season-high 42 points while Joe Harris (17) and Jeff Green (10) were the other double-figure contributors.
Kyrie Irving missed his sixth consecutive game, but this time his absence is tied to a league-mandated quarantine after video footage of the star celebrating a family birthday without a mask or safe distancing was the cause.
Something to watch moving forward is the Nets bench as the trade erased much of the depth Brooklyn began the season with. Although the Nets won 122-115, the Magic reserves outscored them 42-19.
Irving (health and safety protocols) is out indefinitely. Spencer Dinwiddie (knee) is out for the season while Nicolas Claxton (knee) has no definitive return date.
