Boston led by seven going into the fourth quarter but Los Angeles started fast in the final twelve minutes and built a lead of its own.

It nearly gave the game away in the final seconds when Davis turned it over but Alex Caruso and Dennis Schroder hustled back on defense to stop Jaylen Brown from getting an easy layup and contesting Kemba Walker’s game-winning attempt.
LeBron James scored 21 and Montrezl Harrell and Kyle Kuzma had good games off the bench.
Marc Gasol, who continues to start at center, did little in the form of scoring once again. After a bagel against the Pistons, he had just one point against Boston. He has one double-digit scoring game all season and he’s shooting 40 percent.
Atlanta Hawks
The first-place Hawks were off on Saturday and so will have an extra day of rest and the home court advantage against the Lakers, who, by the way, are finishing their two week East Coast road trip in this game.
Atlanta defeated Washington the last time it played on Friday night but it lost De’Andre Hunter for what could turn out to be a prolonged stretch of time with a knee injury.
Hunter, of course, could have been a Laker but he was a big part of the multi-team Anthony Davis trade two summers ago when hew was the fourth overall pick in the NBA Draft out of Virginia.
He was playing great in his second pro season before the injury, averaging over 17 points per game on .514 from the field.
The Hawks do have some depth at the wing but it has been injury-prone all season. Both Danilo Gallinari and Cam Reddish have been in and out of the lineup but both are healthy currently. It’s crucial they stay available with Hunter out.
