They combined for 50 points on just 34 field goal attempts. George turned it over four times but Leonard balanced that out with none himself.
Three other Clippers were in double-figures, including Brazzaville’s own Serge Ibaka. Now in his twelfth year in the league, Ibaka, out of the Congo, remains as consistent as ever.
His .516 field goal is right at his career average, as is his 12.3 scoring average. He’s still rebounding seven per game, too.
New York Knicks
The Knicks notched an impressive win over Cleveland on Friday night as well, 102–81, at Madison Square Garden.
Cleveland’s 81 points became a new season-low for the surprising Cavaliers. Andre Drummond was held to just four points after going off in the first meeting between the two teams.
The rookie Immanuel Quickley led all scorers with 25 points. He’s scored in double-figures in six out of his last nine games.
Friday’s performance was an ideal way to bounce back from a 1-for-11 game against Utah in the one prior for the youngster.
RJ Barrett’s numbers look better in his second season with increase in points per game from 14.3 up to 17.8 and a field goal up two-hundredths of a point to .421.
But his three-point shooting has been atrocious, even worse than his subpar start as a rookie. He’s down around .288 and he’s attempting more threes this year (4.0) than last.
